There were 25-30 of these birds we could see ....but this big white one was definitely the boss.
These were wild, no fences but hard to get close to.

Wild Horses stampede in the remote Altai Mountains of Mongolia.
This image was shot on an expedition to revisit the very remote valleys in Mongolia, close to the Cinese Border, by the BBC Human Planet documentary team with members of of the original crew. During this expedition we entered valleys previously unvisited by any foreigners before.
Some of my images, including this one, were published worldwide by Lonely Planet in a three part trilogy on Mongolia's Lost Secrets which is still available on www.lonelyplanet.com

Light blue wild flowers with yellow cones and thin long petals. Soft light applied to the image and a darkened background to enhance the color of the flowers and center the viewer's focus. This image was captured along the Covered Bridge Trail at the Trexler Nature Preserve in Pennsylvania's Lehigh County.

"Suddenly they were there, lean, ghost like shapes in the moonlight with Mickey Mouse ears; wearing their dappled coats of black, tan and gold, like ink spots on blotting paper. Only a new day would reveal their full beauty. Only Man could hope to prevent their extinction"

We watched this little dog swimming after a duck it fancied for lunch. The dog was swimming faster until it got close enough and the duck took flight. As it happened we were also on a wild goose chase trying to visit an ancient and beautiful building with its doors locked in Estella, Spain. Thanks for visiting and especially commenting. I will be a bit busy the next few days but normal activity will be resumed. :)
Together with my son I spent a week on my favorit Dutch island called Ameland. Apparently a large population of wild rabbits are living on this island and since they are used to human presence they are relatively easy to approach.
Riisitunturi national park
This could be any mountain spruce forest north of the Polar circle. The Northern lights, or Aurora borealis is a phenomenon, originating in the uppermost part of the atmosphere and caused by solar wind particles that are speeded up along the Earth’s magnetic field lines. It happens all year round, but is only visible when nights are dark enough, and most frequently during the equinoxes, in September-October and March-April. Riisitunturi National Park covers 77 Sq km and is one of 25,000 protected sites under the EU Natura 2000 umbrella.

The wild iris have been beautiful this year. This patch had just opened and the edges were still nice and the colors were so vibrant and beautiful.
These particular flowers are a favorite of mine, they were also a favorite of mine sweetest Grandmom. There were always some wild "flags" growing at every stock ponds on the summer pasture. They would also grow near the springs or any naturally wet area. My Grandmom would dig them up and plant them on the ditch back near her yard. So every spring when I see this beautiful flower I think of her.
