There were several early built hotrods at the show, and all were built in the 1950's - 1960's, and this spectacular 1932 Ford highboy was one of them. It is probably one of the classiest all steel bodied hotrods I've seen in some time. Done beautifully in complimentary green with red wheels, and a red leather interior, and a touch of chrome plating. The fit and finish was pure perfection, and I hope my photos here will show that!
When I placed warm, just-dried laundry on the kitchen counter, Jimmy could not have been more happy. I took lots of photos; thank you for your indulgence.
The night of Sept. 28 was a spectacular one for Aurora watchers. Lady Aurora came out to dance several time through the night, and it was a beautiful thing.

Another in a series of old New England colonial homes.
Worked on this one quite a while to get the mood
as I envisioned it.
The original shot was taken in broad daylight.
Thanks for looking!

When feeding on the coast Curlew often spread out ad can be seen wading in quite deep water. It was lovely, therefore, to see this one finding food in the pools amongst the seaweed at Lepe on the southern coast.
Thank you all for your kind responses.

Finding that special someone who makes you feel at ease is a beautiful experience. It doesn’t take much, but when it feels right, you just know. 💖✨

When the hummer behaves and comes close enough that you have to back up because the telephoto lens won't focus that close, things work out.
When Fermilab’s founding director, Robert Wilson, imagined an ideal laboratory, he wanted it to be architecturally impressive and artistically inspiring. With this in mind, he installed remarkable sculptures and designed buildings in influenced by culture, history, and physics.
Acqua Alle Funi, 1978
On the reflecting pond across from the entrance of Wilson Hall, there is a hyperbolic obelisk designed by Wilson. The name “Acqua Alle Funi” is an Italian phrase meaning “water to the ropes,” which refers to a story about an Egyptian obelisk ordered by Pope Sixtus V - considered to be a symbolic act, illustrating the triumph of Christianity over Paganism raised in St. Peter’s Square in the 16th century.
After viewing a multitude of photos of the sculpture in the enormous pond at the front entrance of Fermilab I did not see one which was a direct straight on shot. - and direct straight on image structuring is a taboo in photographic composition.
Hello ! - It's your camera and your moment so straight ahead it is!
By it's contours and it's exact center placement I believe this would be the way the designer wanted it to be best appreciated.
Oddly enough I can recall how frigid and windy it was out on the open prairie of the Fermilab compound that afternoon.
I submitted this and three other works to the 34th Visual Arts Alliance Jutied Membershipo Exhibition, which opens on Wednesday next. This one didn't make it, but I've added the two that did--each posted previously--in the comments below. Each was digitally remixed from a single exposure of a drab concrete floor in an art space repurposed from an earlier industrial use. The colors are strongly enhanced, but were already implicit in the uneven lighting at the scene. With a little exploration, art can emerge from a post-industrial environment.
The title recalls Walt Whitman's elegy for Abraham Lincoln, although truncating it to just 3 words allows a more hopeful interpretation. The image reminds me of a garden in raking light, either dawn or twilight. My wife thinks it looks more like a birch tree on a lake shore. Happy for you to find your preferred interpretation.

Back when I dispatched for the Rio Grande in Denver I spent a lot of time on the BN line over Trinchera Pass. I could check the train sheets and see what went south on the BN coal trains over the Joint Line south of Denver. After work I could easily catch up to something if it had a nice set of power. Here a loaded train heads for the power plant at Oklaunion, Texas, and is seen travelling over the moon scape like terrain east of Trinidad. A neat train of company steel hoppers snakes along behind a set of GE and EMD products. But of course back then a "nice" set of power was something other than an SD40-2 leading! My how times have changed...
When we pray, God hears more than we say, answers more than we ask, gives more than we imagine in His own time and in His own way.
When I saw this pic after downloading a days worth of pics onto my computer, I thought "this guy looks like he's riding a pretend horse". Then I noticed the guy in back practicing martial arts. What the hell do either of these have to do with kite boarding?
Waddell Creek Beach, a great place to shoot kite boarders, wind surfers, and other people playing in the water. Between Half Moon Bay, and Santa Cruz, California.
But since this place is just south of Ano Nuevo State Park, a breeding and haul out area for elephant seals, there are also sharks out there. Great white sharks. Hey, I think I just figured out why that guy is practicing kung fu.
Think I'll stay on shore taking pictures.
When I was walking down one of the paths at Circle B, I noticed that ants were issuing forth from what initially appeared to be a crack in the soil. Upon closer examination I could see that there were queens and probably drones preparing to leave the nest to start a new one, and they were being tended to by normal ants from the colony. I don't know what kind of ants these are, but I enjoy taking part in natures little moments.

When she looks at things too closely, they can appear distorted and unreal. Perhaps she should pull back a bit and see things as they truly are...
When I am preparing to take a photograph with some of my older cameras, I sometimes remember to take a reference photograph with my phone. After a little tweaking, I have decided that I quite like this one, and so here it is.
