When I say I have lots of marble photo's I mean lots as in hundreds. Trouble is my decision making is poor aligned to the fact it is not something everyone enjoys. Never mind...its like music soothes the savage breast sort of thing... if you know what I mean ?

When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.

"When once you have tasted flight

you will forever walk the earth

with your eyes turned skyward

for there you have been

and there you will always long to return."

--Leonardo Da Vinci

So therefore in order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present. And it certainly does around on Brindley Place at night, where it's full of restaurants and bars and also, on an enviable canalside location that makes Brindleyplace one of most Birmingham’s best locations, for perfect tranquillity and relaxation.

So? - If we are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody else that it does!

Many thanks for your cool comments and compliments from you here, my flickr friends !!!

'Castle' class HST power cars 43097 and 43186 top and tail respectively GWR's 11.28am Exeter St David's - Penzance service (2C20), seen here departing from the unmistakeable Liskeard station, in Cornwall.

Something of a standard shot, but it was hard to ignore the reverse curves and offset positioning of the two semaphores signals. The presence of an endangered HST on a beautifully sunny day might have been an incentive too…..

And there's nowhere you can run

If the midnight strikes

And you lose your only sun

When the darkness comes

(La la la la la la)

Will you come undone

Think you know someone

Til' the darkness comes

Thank you all so much for your wonderful words, awards, and the group invites. I truly do appreciate them all!♥

When the branches are short, too much snow doesn't accumulate on the tree.

Magical things happen when you add water. Water helps creates energy and motion and adds a bit of something special. I got drenched playing in the water but feel alive and happy. I am hoping you can find a little magic moment in your day as well!

When the sun rises on the opposite side of the lake it shines on the top of the trees first and on the trees of this little rock Island...

That is IF you are a Yellow-crowned Night Heron and you have a nice full tummy and the sun is shining on Horsepen Bayou. I try not to get too close when they are like this and just completely zoned out and in the moment. Just doing a bit of relaxing in the sun on the bayou. He’s resting on one of the many trees that are lodged in the mud along the banks of the bayou.

Not quite sure what happened to Flickr today as it seemed to just go offline. At least it’s back and appears to be working properly.

When Iceland changed from left hand traffic to right hand traffic in 1968 the whole bus fleet in Reykjavík had to be renowed and all the old yellow buses where replaced by beautiful new, green Volvo buses. After faithful service this one was parked in the beautiful valley Vatnsdalur in northern Iceland where it now gives horses a shelter from the storm.

When I placed warm, just-dried laundry on the kitchen counter, Jimmy could not have been more happy. I took lots of photos; thank you for your indulgence.

A bit of magic from the archives

Candelle Pass in the Calanques , 400m high..., Provence.

When walking through a warm and lush forest setting one's thoughts can easily take flights of fancy. It is not difficult to shed the layers of modern life and find one's more subtle or primitive beginnings. Somewhere from deep within the spirit and majesty of each single tree steps forth and at once one can find themselves transported to a world of shadow and shade.

He's actually called Eric, but I didn't think that worked as well for a title!

When we moved to our new house in 2019, I saw this Heron at the pond in front of me. It flew away very quickly and there are far better (and sharper) images of Herons, but I like it!

It's time for me now to fly away, this site takes a lot of my time and I'am to busy for my contacts at the moment. See you in a while...

Thank you for taken your time to visit me, comments or faves are always much appreciated!

Another in a series of old New England colonial homes.

Worked on this one quite a while to get the mood

as I envisioned it.

The original shot was taken in broad daylight.

Thanks for looking!

A Wood Duck (Aix sponsa) drake from Tarrant County, Texas.

I didn't have any images of bunnies or peeps (which I interpret to be baby chickens) to post today, but I thought that a brightly-colored drake Wood Duck in breeding plumage is fitting for the theme of the day.

Happy Easter to all of my Flickr friends!

[...] (The) two towers stand close to each other like a dancing couple in movement. The towers lean away from each other, creating an opening that ensures all guests fully enjoy the wonderful view over Amager Common and the vast Copenhagen skyline."

When the past returns...

Back when I dispatched for the Rio Grande in Denver I spent a lot of time on the BN line over Trinchera Pass. I could check the train sheets and see what went south on the BN coal trains over the Joint Line south of Denver. After work I could easily catch up to something if it had a nice set of power. Here a loaded train heads for the power plant at Oklaunion, Texas, and is seen travelling over the moon scape like terrain east of Trinidad. A neat train of company steel hoppers snakes along behind a set of GE and EMD products. But of course back then a "nice" set of power was something other than an SD40-2 leading! My how times have changed...

When all i could see was the profile, I thought it was a cat for an instant!
