If you look carefully, you can see I didn't quite get the weld beads fair; i.e. there are little pits below the level of the plate.
I might pick them up with the TIG tomorrow...
I felt compelled to fill the holes in the spade plate, as that's exactly where corrosion would start. In my opinion, large holes in a spade blade look crude, too.
Weld Mausoleum, North Street, Chideock. The Welds were the local estate holders after Thomas Weld of Lulworth Castle bought the estate of Chideock for his 6th son, Humphrey, in 1802. After Humphrey’s death in 1852, the estate passed to his son, Charles. Charles had built and may also have designed the mausoleum, perhaps in conjunction with J S Hansom.
Swear to gawd that John spent one hour welding for every half hour he ran the rake that day.

Area high school students competed in the inaugural Carl Sandburg College Welding Competition held May 18 in Building G at the Main Campus in Galesburg. Teams from Galesburg, ROWVA, United, Monmouth-Roseville and Galva competed in the event.

Once all the frames were into position, Len then tacked them into place. Ive tried to weld a couple of times and fail miserably. Ive since decided to leave it up to people who know what they are doing!
