at this point I didn't care about the left over crap from previous welds I was about to go inside anyway. It was threatening to rain.
An empty Norfolk Southern welded rail train sits on the east pass at Tolono, IL. NS is in the process of replacing welded rail in this area on its Lafayette District.
After welding the join closed between the two pieces I smoothed down the welds and primed it. Next I will repair the area around the bumper mounting.
This is an awesome experience! Learning about all aspects of building a bike, plus I didn't know what I didn't know about welding, now I have some structure to the process
I needed a outdoor case for my new outdoor video / intercom system.
Instead of buying new materials I gathered up some old CD plastic
cases and welded them together with a little acetone. Lightly rubbing
a Q-Tip soakes in acetone on a joint will make a very strong bond in
seconds.

The picture was taken through type 8 welding glass with a 30 second exposure - call it a people filter. Not surprisingly, it was very busy when the photograph was taken.
One person remains in the frame - blurred while taking a (very) slow walk into the city gates.
