So this is the basic setup i starting using when i was in Nova scotia. This is on a wharf on the Dartmouth side of the Halifax harbor.
Simple setup, i have a standard 72mm cokin adapter on my camera, 2 paddle pop sticks and 4 cloths pegs. Did the trick, was quick and simple to get on and off the camera. The rig never fell off, thou it worried me a few times.
I diddnt notice any light leakage, but that doesnt mean there wont be some in the future. My plan for now is to build a better attach meant so i can slide it on and off my cokin p series adapter's and i if get some more time, ill build a hood for the filter too.
Tech Specs of the glass i picked up:

With this Tiger (Chinese) laser diode (325nm/~180mw) in a reused driver+enclosure I can fuse/solder the really really fine 40ga cathode wires used in 2.5mm El-wire...
but to be honest I find that the "soldering iron and copper foil" technique is much easier and safer.
I recently tested a 640nm (red) / 205mw diode in this same enclosure and it (regrettably) only lived about 30 seconds before it overheated. Not unexpected, but fun while it lasted - it would burn holes in car tires 5M away.
4 beads, 4 students, 3 have never tig welded before tonight and the other maybe 3 hours. I do enjoy this. My 1st #welding with #tig didn't look like that the VERY 1st time I added wire the puddle. Much to learn and a great deal of room for improvement but an excellent start. The 4 overlapping beads were done by me while demostrating.
This MIG Series welding machine is based on latest technology of HF inverter along with IGBT module. In this machine the frequency is very high as it meets 20 KHz and the reaction is also very fast. Direct & convenient, this machine has digital display of current and voltage adjustment before welding. The PWM control method of this machine assures the quality and performance stability during function. In addition to this, this machine is ideal for all welding positions and the welding current is automatically adjusted during the stretching length, which should not be more than 30 mm. Moreover, this machine provides stable welding with strong capability against power fluctuation (310 V-450). - www.atcomaart.com/pd/52485348524854505752/mig-welders/mig...
An abandoned building in Moriarty, New Mexico. Apparently welding, among other things, used to go on here.
Normally I wear gloves and long sleeves when welding. Just tacking here, so don't yell at me.

When you're arc welding together a new fire escape and sparks are flying around and exploding off the molding below you, it’s always important to practice good arc welding safety. "For body protection a pair of fire retardant long sleeved coveralls without cuffs is a good choice (tshirts, not so much)…A welding helmet or hand shield with filter plate and cover plate is mandatory for eye protection from the harmful rays of the arc (wearing it on top of your head severely reduces its effectiveness)…A flame-proof skull cap to protect the hair and head is recommended (using your helmet as a skull cap does work but, again, to the detriment does not serve your eyes."*

It took me about half a year to design and build these.
It was a learning experience two way: Mastering the forming of the metal and then the welding of this unruly and unpredictable material.
