Week #22 Birds - Woodpecker at regular dinner spot. This was the best shot I had for this weeks theme. It seems my subjects would just not co-operate for me.

I did this Lo for two different things...my first LO for my 365 Self-Portiat and the Scrap Mojo # 6. The challenge for 365 was to use one photo from week 1, your favorite quote, and 2008 Goals. Scrap Mojo was to scrap about your repeated new years resolution that you have every year and sewing either hand or machine. I don't have a repeat resolution because I have never been into the whole new year thing but this year I have.

Original fact is: Estimated number of parking spaces per car in the United States: 3 (Harper's Index, Harper's Magazine Vol 324 Issue 1942 (2012) p11)

Rationale:

The type used in this graphic was selected to look like traffic lines found on a road. The font was found on theleagueofmoveabletype.com (www.theleagueofmoveabletype.com/ostrich-sans)

The main art in this graphic is 5 lines arranged to look like 3 empty parking spaces, literally representing the fact chosen to show the 3 parking spaces available for each car in the U.S.A.

"3" and "EVERY CAR" are highlighted in a different colour and in a larger font to bring emphasis to the main points of the fact. Yellow was chosen to represent a "safety yellow" found on road text such as those used to show warnings and directions.

Black background was used to represent the black asphalt of roads, with a central gradient used to bring emphasis to the middle artwork.

Stopped to take this image on my morning run 🏃‍♀️ I loved the way that the sun was shining through the trees casting lovely shadows across the path and the way the path leads the eye into the picture.

BUGS

Ogden Nash (1902-1971)

Some insects feed on rosebuds

And others feed on carrion.

Between them they devour the earth.

Bugs are totalitarian.

(The theme this week was to take a photo that relates to a poem or lyric or quote).

I wish (my gutters were cleaned out before the 6 inches of rain we just got:) )

Photo was take on 1/2/2011

This is part of a 52 week project where I will take an image based on the current theme. This weeks theme is "I wish".

The purpose of the Book Week Celebration is to encourage students to become readers through fun and engaging activities that motivates students to appreciate the different kinds of literature the world has to offer - from epic novels to simple newspaper comics. A child who reads will become an creative adult who thinks.

To kick off the opening of the SFAMSC Book Week is a mini parade where the preschool, grade school, and some intermediate and high school student wear their costumes of their favourite literary and comic characters. The kids are given a treat as they accompanied by the much beloved children’s book character Geronimo Stilton at the end of the parade! Also, the students with the most memorable and interesting costumes are given awards for the costumes cleverness and creativity.

After the parade, the students are directed to assigned classrooms where they will have their big book story telling (high school students tell stories to the preschool and grade school kids), film watching, and slogan and poster making activities.

Week 1: A self-portrait without me in it.

I own a flower shop, so I spend all day around gorgeous flowers. Gerbera jamesonii (a.k.a. Gerber Daisies) are my favorite. I also like to think that I have a pretty colorful personality, so this photo represents that as well.

This is week 01, my first (self) portrait.
