Wisconsin Central 3025-3012-3024 waiting for a train to haul them to their new home. Rebuilt and painted by Livingston Rebuild Center from Western Pacific GP40's.
3003 is an SD40 with numerous owners and numbers. Rebuilt as a lease unit by LRC, it is former CNW (925) and before that CGW (405). Purchased by MRL as their 3003 and again renumbered 222. The unit was sold and scrapped in 2001.

Last night, word quickly spread that the W&LE's Wisconsin Central painted SD40-2, No. 6316 is currently in the process of being repainted and equipped with PTC. The 6316 was one of my personal favorite units on the roster so it really sucks to see it go. Earlier this summer, I lucked into the 6316 leading a late eastbound 228 which had a lot of trouble on their run from Bellevue, which resulted in a perfectly lit morning run east out of Creston. Here, they are seen rolling through some dense foliage at a location known as Snively, just west of Brewster. A while back, somebody got a bit ambitious and decided to reapply the WC nose logo to this unit. The logo has faded out significantly since then, but when looking at the nose, the number boards are the only real clue that this engine is owned by the Wheeling. Unfortunately it will be a bit more obvious once it emerges from the shop.

WC 6005 CN 9590 and WC 3018 lead a long freight east through Masonville as it makes its way to the SOO. Wish we would have chased this now looking back.
A wild deer pays more attention to us than the train as WC 2004 shoves L508 back down the hill into Williams Lake after working the handful of forestry industries in Norlake.

WC train #219, Oshkosh, WI. A Green Bay bound mix, freight and pigs, usually this was a weekend move, and also the exception to my last pic's statement, LiL SD's were ok.
The toilets at the old picnic site at Daan Viljoen Game Park are no longer in use and are falling apart slowly but surely. The walls are still in an excellent condition, however.

Highballing the last few miles of the former BCRail Lillooet Sub, a pair of Wisconsin Central Geeps bring train L508 back into Williams Lake around Midnight after the short journey from Exeter (100 Mile House BC). L508 is the only scheduled freight left on the Lillooet sub after CN mothballed freight on the former BCR between Exeter and Squamish. Of course, the famed blue and gold Rocky Mountaineer can still be seen traveling these rails bi-weekly but other than that no freight touches this line which makes this train a little unique. The 2004 was built for the Algoma Central and a few bits of the old paint can be seen peaking through the WC's Maroon and Yellow. The 3026 has been passed around quite a bit, originally for the Milwaukee Road, than for the SOO, then to ACR and finally the WC. It served as one of WC's specialty units being painted in a special sesquicentennial scheme that depictured a big map of Wisconsin on the side of the long hood. Now that's all gone with the CN repaint. Regardless, these are still some pretty cool units on a pretty cool train.
