Qualche fishata ....

WC Transfer pulls across the Mississippi River on their way to Humboldt with cars for CP back on May 31, 1998. A couple of maroon and gold engines was a great way to end a beautiful, long May day in the Twin Cities. Was always a favorite spot for me as it was near my house and looking at the Camden Bridge you wouldn't think you were right in the middle of Minneapolis.

WC 34046 Braunton speeds through Walton on Thames with the Solent & Sarum tour from Waterloo to Salisbury.

The chase is on, back in Feb 2007 one of our weekend goals was to chase an E-Rail across the old Soo Line from Ladysmith to points East. Feb 18th wold be that day. It turned out to be a set of what got termed the SD45 killers as these units rapidly siplaced the WC SD45 fleet after the CN takeover. doesn't matter in this case as it was a chase over the old Soo Line. We started the chase in Ladysmith when the train took the turn off the Superior Mainline and headed East, here engineer Dave Schultz handles the train through a series of hills and valleys that no doubt kept you on your toes with a heavy tac train. The train speed was low which allowed us to shoot like mad men during the chase parallel to WI Hwy 8, rolling through Hawkins with the old depot in the background.

Hard to believe this scene was back in 2006, with plenty of Maroon and the SD45 killers in full force on the WC trains

Chilly afternoon in Prague, pleading for salvation... and there it was: I saw the light!

Back in early 1995 when the winter Minorca trains were running with the C&NW ore cars, WC 6560 was the leader in the 3 unit consist. Easy to spot the BN heritage of this unit with the Squared off winterization hatch. I was wondering if I had a detailed enough shot showing the safety sign in the stairwell, it reads: YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AND THE OBLIGATION TO WORK SAFELY

Ore empties at South Itasca on the EZ siding. Three years in to CN ownership and it was getting rare to catch a matched set of SD45s on trains.

Las estaciones del metro de paris, a pesar de tener una infraestructura antigua, tienen toques de arte y buen gusto. Colores, murales, lamparas le impregnan a cada una su personalidad.

on our quest for the E-Rail back in 2007, WC 300 was based in Prentice, managed to get good sun on both sides before and after the E-Rail chase. The 300 is now based out of Pokegama Yard in Superior and has seen service a few times this winter already.

This male has been interacting in a territorial dispute with his reflection at the window feeder for over a week.

He pretends to feed and picks at imaginary items on the branches before flying at the "intruder"

Though a common species in our area...feeder visiting is not a regular thing.

only one other year, in over 20 years here, have i ever had another OCWA display and and defend against its reflection.

The first painted WC SD45 leads train #7 out of north Oshkosh, WI

WC's hot intermodal #219 departing the north side of Oshkosh, WI with a 4 car train powered by a single GP30. The "Sprint" train they inherited from the Milwaukee Road were pretty small in the beginning, business later was strong out of Green Bay.

Wisconsin Central Limited ( WC ) GP40 3018 & GTW GP38-2 6228 rest at Presidents Island, TN waiting on their next assignment, the moon can be seen in the sky in the upper right some 238,855 miles away, the WC GP40 3018 is the last WC GP40 that remains in service on CN, Canadian National Railroad took over WC around 19 years ago, there are some WC SD45’s preserved at the Illinois Railroad Museum, all others were stored, scrapped or work on other railroads, I know Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway got some of WC’s SD40-2’s but I believe they’ve been repainted into Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway paint & even if they were in WC paint the WC lettering was patched out

WC 3069 rolls through Wisconsin on a Q train on a below zero February day.

WC train #19 just over 4th Ave in Oshkosh, WI just about to cross the Fox River swing bridge right behind me.

Sadly this was the only time i ever saw this unit and it has long since been cut up.
