Wayne Ross came to New Zealand to live in 1982, from Australia. He is a self taught national and internationally known artisan wood carver and fitter-welder by trade and has 12 years experience in working with New Zealand native woods. His speciality is Ancient New Zealand Swamp Kauri. His fascination with wood from an early age has turned into a lifetime love.
He has had a number of successful exhibitions throughout New Zealand, and many of his art pieces are in private collections throughout the world.
The CN railway to Drumheller closed when the mines did. The track seems to have been lifted more recently, with quite a few artefacts left behind.
Such a nice guy! He played a man in the Helm's Deep battle, and he can also be seen in Rohan, Pelennor Fields, & House of Healing, and Laketown (in The Hobbit DOS) scenes
