In loving memory of my son Wayne who would have been 47 years old today.
Goodnight, God Bless, Sleep tight, Sweet Dreams.

Chasing the aurora finding landscapes, the nearly full moon is lighting up the landscape like daylight
Wayne gave me a copy of Constable's famous painting The Hay Wain after I told him I always greet him as if he was a painting. The clock changes in the US mean I haven't' seen him in a bit, so I am using this picture to call out "Hey! I miss you"
Wayne's Woods is named after Anthony Wayne who was a general under George Washington. He also served in the Second United States Congress (representing Georgia).
This area of Valley Forge is particularly pretty. There are picnic tables, paths through the woods, and plenty of wildlife (I saw several deer) to see.
ABOUT THE SHOT
HDR from five single stop incremental exposures.
ABOUT VALLEY FORGE
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania is best known as the home to General George Washington's Continental Army for the winters of 1777-1778. Back in those days, large scale combat wasn't conducted during the winter since snow and cold weather presented a logistical nightmare so armies would build up large camps where they could spend the winter. Despite popular belief, the winters during these years weren't especially harsh (the belief that they were is mostly due to America's romanticism of this period). The winters however were full of disease which plagued the troops who were in extremely close proximity to one another. During those two winters at Valley Forge, the Continental Army trained and became an even stronger unit.
I had visited Valley Forge once before (shortly after I graduated high school) but for some reason didn't remember it well. Walking around the park in the summer's high heat and ridiculous humidity was worth it. It's a beautiful place that's fully of amazing history.
ABOUT THE SERIES
In June 2010 Michelle and I traveled to Philadelphia (and surrounding areas) for a summer vacation and to visit her extended family. I'd been to Philadelphia twice before, once in eighth grade and once during college but I only remember bits and pieces of each previous trip. The trip during college was during the 2010 Republican National Convention (I wasn't there for the convention) and I remember the entire city resembling a police state with police everywhere due to all the protests.
Anyway, it was great to return to the city and see some of the surrounding areas I hadn't explored before. We visited during a heatwave (90 degree heat with intense humidity which apparently is a little unusual in June but typical in August) but it was well worth the trip.

My wife and I ran across this former movie theater in our roaming around Fort Wayne. A check with the local historical society found that it was the Clyde Theater and it opened in 1951. In 1976 in was twin screened and renamed the Quimby after the designer. The building is now used as a church, but when it ceased being a theater is unknown. The overhang was all marquee and what a sight that had to be. There was also a tall sign on top of the marquee that said "Clyde"

Located just outside the City of Piedmont in Wayne County, Missouri, Lon Sanders Canyon is a shut-in formed by McKenzie Creek as it winds its way through the rocky canyon, forming waterfalls and pools along its path. The remnants of stone stairs cut into the steep bluffs and two small rock dams are all that remain of a failed attempt by a St. Louis entrepreneur named Lon Sanders to build a private resort in the canyon.
Lon Sanders was born in Corinth, Mississippi, in 1866. In 1887 he came to St. Louis, Missouri, where he started the Sanders Engraving Company, which manufactured electrotypers and engravers. The business was a success, and soon Sanders had plants in St. Louis, Memphis and Chattanooga, Tennessee. I’ve been unable to find information to indicate when he started construction on his ill-fated resort, or why it was never completed. If anyone has additional information, please feel free to add it to the comments below.
According to local lore, the trail leading down into the canyon is allegedly haunted. People have reported hearing the voice of a woman faintly calling out from the surrounding woods: “Please! Help me.” To add to the mystery of the area, in 1973, Piedmont (pop. 1,977) gained national notoriety when hundreds of people reported UFO sighting in the area. However, in my multiple visits to Lon Sanders Canyon Conservation Area, I have yet to encounter screaming women or aliens.

We were drinking. A lot. And boy, those drinks were strong. I wanted the photographs to exhibit how drunk i was when i took them.
I've been experimenting with imitating different camera and film styles. This was taken with a cruddy 4.0mp Kodak. Here, i am imitating Polaroids.
A big thanks to Andrea Rascaglia. Look him up on google if you do not know him.

I have built (a part of) Wayne Manor. I wanted to show how the rich Bruce Wayne lives over the well known bat cave. Round about 150.000 parts were used for this moc, mainly small bricks and plates - and over 10.000 jumper plates 1x2 and 2x2 in almost all colours.
More minfigures than usually were at Wayne Manor. There was an costume party, but the Joker invited himself and Bruce Wayne could not become the Dark Knight. So the rest of the bat family hat to solve the problem ...
