Waves of Lake Superior come crashing ashore

Some waves crashing into the beach at Watch Hill, RI. We got there right as the tide was coming in, which made for some cool waves.

The ocean is at Xavi's command. With a simple motion of his hand, the awesome might of the waves take down an innocent girl in the background.

my wave pictures can't even begin to compare to Scott's, with his monster new lens, but let me tell you: these waves were frickin' HUGE yesterday -- I think the official reading on the swell was 17 feet, and they were really towering over the beach...

This is my country. That's enough.

Hurricane (or tropical storm) Sandy hits Massachusetts on October 29, 2012. Shots of waves on the sea wall and beach.

The arrival of Autumn is generally accompanied by gloomy weather, which produces potential for awesome pictures!

This is an image made from my deck of intrepid surfers on a huge break about 2 kms from me. The surfers are towed onto the 10 m waves by jetskis. There was quite a haze that softens the image. Perhaps I should have used a polarising filter?

Another shot from September 2013 visit.

Nothing like a 45 minute break at lunch to sit and do some photography at the beach with perfect conditions.
