The dawn rising directly behind the 6 ft swell on Coledale Beach (NSW) created the perfect waves for surfers and photographers alike
big swells at newcastle baths ... i did see the big splash coming in from the right but i was told to stand still so someone ( no names mentioned ) took a photo. Im a good team player .
Taken with a Fujifilm S1500 using the SP-SPORT Setting. I'd never tried it before and thought this would be a good way to test it out.

They were so magnificent. Once you make it past this sand bar where the waves really pick up strength, further out it was so much fun. We were jumping into the waves. I would say they were 1 - 2 ft waves in water that we could just barely touch bottom, I wouldn't go out any farther than that as it would be a little too far! It was the most fun I've had in forever! ;o) (Kayla of course stayed in shallow-er water with someone hanging out with her at all times)

A handful of people gathered near the entrance to Coast Guard Beach in Eastham, on the Cape Cod National Seashore. Most were fully dressed against a chill breeze. They were here to watch the surf being roiled by Hurricane Katia, which was then about 500 miles (800 km) offshore in the Atlantic. (The tide was ebbing, though, so the waves were somewhat muted.)
