Os deseo una feliz semana, amigos mios...
I wish you a happy week, dear friends...
Ich wünsche euch eine wunderbare Woche, liebe Freunde...
I'm no wave expert, but two wave patterns seemed to be happening at once in the lake when I took this.
The winds were blowing basically left-to-right, and they seemed to be the source of the ephemeral blue waves on top.
The lake currents (it's basically a wide part of a river) were flowing right-to-left at the same time, and those waves are the steely-gray waves below the blue ones.
If you know wave behavior, I'd love to hear what you think about this.
Second image of Crashing Waves, this one in color and cropped as a panorama.
We had 40 mph winds out of the north yesterday, pushing huge Lake Michigan waves directly into the side of the concrete pier. The plumes of the crashing waves were 30 to 40 feet high!
A very impressive sight for sure, but spending two hours capturing the scene froze me solid :)
"Uomo libero, amerai sempre il mare!
Il mare è il tuo specchio:
contempli la tua anima
nel volgersi infinito dell’onda che rotola."

MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!! :)
randomness 10/52 -- waves -- so my randomly selected piece of paper said. This was taken early one morning in 2008. I will have a chance for some fresh wave shots this weekend but -- alas -- this theme was picked last week so out this came from the archives.
Have a great week my friends!
Late day sun, just as it dipped below the dunes, lit up the waves a few days ago. This wave was caught in a spot light.
This is from my digital archives on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2009. The magical mood of sunset with some wave action and a breeze is taking place on the north shore of O'ahu Thanks for the view.
In Hall Bredning I noticed this fascinating iceberg that had eroded into wave shapes, emphasized by the low angle of the sun. Although there was some reflection, I wanted a stronger reflection so in Photoshop I created a layer and used Flood to add a reflection that I blended with the foreground for a more realistic effect, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.
