I took a long drive north along highway #1. I spent most of my time watching the waves breaking against the rocks. This scene is a few miles north of Bodega Bay. Bodega Bay is where the Hitchcock movie "The Birds" was filmed.

The rough seas bring out the green in the water. Trial Island sits on top.

Beautiful and dramatic sunrise in Pololu Valley. Occasionally there would be a wave that crashes in an unusual direction like this one.

Soaring in the face of the gale and breaking wave, the gull seems to have no sense of danger. I was thrilled to experience the highest seas I can remember on my return to Middle Cove, near St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The weather was miserable, but the ocean was truly magnificent. Beautiful colours in the sky reflecting on the ocean this evening but not much shape to the clouds so decided to try a different approach.

Winter hit hard today with snow down to sealevel even where I was standing on Back Beach, St Clair to take this monster wave breaking. In the distance a snow storm pelts Lawyer's Head and the Peninsula beyond.

My thoughts are with those in Norway....Just read a girl from New Zealand may have died on the island

Another shot from my weekend trip to Fehmarn Island a few days ago. I was waiting on the blue hour to take some long exposure shots and then I saw one last surfer and one last windsurfer shredding the waves. So I hoped to get sun and surfers in the frame.
