The Rossio Square is one of the main squares of Lisbon, Portugal. The Rossio Square is surrounded by historic buildings. Amongst the most distinctive feature of the Rossio Square in Lisbon, Portugal is the wave patterns of the Portuguese Pavement or calçada portuguesa. The Portuguese Pavement can be found in other ex-colonies of Portugal like Brazil or Macau.

After exploring the special atmosphere of the Copacabana beach, this ended my time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We flew to the Amazon to continue our journey in Brazil.
I found this image of silk on Google images. I chose this image because silk is traditionally a more feminine, royal/wealthy fabric. Silk is also used in protective pillowcases for people with textured hair.

One among the most beautiful shows in nature, strange and ethereal clouds resembling frozen lightning, suspended around 100 km above the Earth, appeared last night (the picture was taken at one in the morning) above the Isle of Lewis.
Structures that seem never-changing, created at temperatures below one hundred degrees below zero, using meteor dust as seed, of a color that goes from the pure white to the electric blue, forged an almost otherworldly view, above the eternal sunset of these latitudes. An experience that will be impossible to forget!

3/20/09 While visiting friends in North Carolina I also got to visit one of my recent creations. This is a lap blanket I made for Jon and Amy and their second baby, Toby. It made me happy to know that they use it every day to tuck around Toby in his car seat before taking him and his brother Noah to daycare. :o) I have to brag a bit about this blanket. Although it looks like one of the traditional "ripple" patterns its actually more of a long wave and a pattern I made up myself! :o)
