These are completely natural patterns created in a tidal lagoon near Saudarkrokur in North Iceland, where black volcanic beach contrasts with the remaining water which reflects a beautiful blue sky.
Cherating Beach, east coast of Malaysia Peninsula, surrounded by lush rainforest, providing a natural and secluded environment.
Perfect to escape time, chase sunshine, and let go. Here in paddling out in a small kayak around the points and beach to the north. I first had to navigate the outgoing tide at so called 'Rocky Shark Pt.', because of the rock featured above looking similar to a shark. :-))
Paddling a kayak in the ocean or sea is yet another serenity activity, and being one-with-nature, although quite demanding Overall, I find ocean or sea kayaking adventuresome, peaceful, meditative and/or exhilarating – depending on when and where. Here, the waters were pretty calm for enjoying the ocean peacefully.

We were making our way along the North coast of Iceland, using all possible small roads to drive along the coast lines of those beautiful North fjords. When we drove along the shoreline of Skagafjordur fjord we came to a place with an enormous, very prominent sea stack close to the shore called Þórðarhöfði from which two small causeways connecting the stack with the shore form a kind of tidal lagoon and these were the amazing patterns the receding waters were creating on the black volcanic beach.
Happy Textural Tuesday!

Sailing boat, Marina Cannes, French Riviera, France.
A boat is a sailboat (pieces of fabric), propelled by the wind. Historically, the boat was the first conveyance medium and long distance. Sailboats carrying goods, passengers, mail. They were used for fishing at sea, military and naval battles.
From the Industrial Revolution of the nineteenth century sailing propulsion gradually disappears for utility transport replaced by steamships and motor boats. Today, utility transport and fishing boats remain only in the less industrially developed countries.
The yachts are used for recreational purposes: competitive sailing and boating.
Yesterdays photo taken at Botallack depicts the turbulent Atlantic Ocean positively battering the cliffs whereas in this capture it appears like milk spilling from a jug lol... I got far more pleasure when capturing this LE at Mother Iveys Bay though, because it was taken between lockdowns and although plenty of people on beaches a mile or so distant -because the local holiday camp of the same name we closed we had the beach to ourselves. I could relax whilst Jonathan threw a ball the opposite way to where i was taking photos which meant no paw prints in the sand and so got many different wave patterns as they broke on the beach. This was the only one that looked like this though....
The bay takes its name from the legend of Mother Ivy who was a local white witch who cursed a local family. It lies just around the coast from Harlyn Bay where you’ll find car parking and facilities (20 mins). Cushioned from the wind by the Merope Rocks, Mother Ivey’s Bay lies in a sheltered location framed by stunning coastal scenery where the soft sandy beach is ideal for both summer sandcastles and romantic winter walks.
Long-billed Curlew crossing a weird artifact of the exceptionally low tide on the beach at Bolivar Flats.

Have a wonderful day, everybody.
Twice a year, on a few days, the sun sinks on the opposite shore of the elongated lake. This means that the warm colors of the sunset are reflected throughout the lake. However, the mountains prevent it from "sinking" completely into the lake.
The calm lake level made it possible to stand a bit in the water and hold the camera close above the surface to enhance the effect a bit more.
The picture was taken close above the water. In the foreground, the waves spread out in circles around the points where a stone has been thrown across and touched the surface.
Thanks for your criticism and as always, favs, likes and comments are gratefully appreciated!

It was raining most of the day here today, but in the afternoon things started looking a bit interesting...I love photographing the patterns waves make in the sand. A day for contemplation.....I so wish I had found the magic of photography years ago...how my life could have been changed earlier by finding this true passion...this medicine for the soul and healing for the heart! when I am in the field..whether in freezing water up to my ankles, or in an awkward position to get a good shot of a feathered friend, I feel no discomfort, no pain, no sorrow I feel only this one moment in time...
Happy New Year!!!! Happy Shooting!!!!
This lightens up much better in large view!

This photoart shot was taken at Redang Island, a beautiful island with crystal clear waters and beautiful sandy beaches. The island lies off Peninsular Malaysia in the broader waters of the South China Sea, which begins at the South of China and runs south, eventually, into the Western Pacific Ocean.
The island also has some very cool resorts, one of which I stayed at. The shot was taken while on a 5-day work break, coming here from my SE Asian work outlet at nearby Singapore.

with the wind coming from the sea for a few days, the scluptures in the sand created pretty waves in the sand. At sunset a pink color came tinged the sand
As the Spirit of Tasmania I comes in to dock we can see a distinctive wave pattern in the water, caused mostly by the ship's engines. There is a slight bow wave, but we are moving so slowly it is almost unnoticable. But I like the way these little waves weave into each other on the smooth surface of the Mersey River.
And with that we conclude our little journey. I do not know when it might be possible to travel again. Our state borders are closed except for essential travel. We are told to expect six months of this. Perhaps more, and then what?
Managed to get this shot of the sun rising over the mouth of the Looe river - there was a lot of cloud and rain showers last week... and this the only morning I managed to get out early to capture the sunrise .. the cloud here helped to diffuse the bright light, and i was quite pleased with the result. I will post a couple more from this same morning later.
Barcloy Hill, taken from Castle Point with beautiful natural light. This shot made me realise how much timing is important in photography. The 3 shots posted from New Year's Day were all taken within a short time frame. Looking at this view with its perfect light, i started to think if only it had happened 20 mins earlier, that the 3 shots taken would have rolled into one complete perfect shot taken from the viewpoint of Lagmuck Sands. The sea would have been lapping around the rock, the cloud trails would have been pointing towards Hestand Island and the most perfect light would have been covering Barcloy Hill and Castle Point. I love all 3 shots for different reasons, but timing could have meant a completely different result.

Tourists in boat by playful dolphin in the Strait of Hormuz, between Qeshm and Hengam islands, Persian Gulf, Iran. I never imagined such fascinating fauna and beautifully colored waters could be found in the Strait of Hormuz, a place the news headlines lead one to associate with constant negativity :)

Persian Gulf Dolphin in blue waters by Qeshm Island, Strait of Hormuz, Iran, with the Qeshm International Airport in the back near the village of Dayrestan.
This was my first visit to the Persian Gulf and I was quite surprised of such a beautifully colored sea full of fascinating biodiversity.
