Big wave action on the coast. The girl in the frame would have had a great view from her vantage point, but I'm not sure my camera would have survived the soaking from there !

Rough surf in Acadia National Park

Waves in Nerja on Christmas Eve. The torrential rain had stopped, and the sun was coming through. The water was brown from all the debris that the overflowing rivers had brought down.

Of all the surfers, she was the best, displaying amazing skills.

It's almost that time of the year again when storms hit the coat of Norway. Many don't like it but as a photographer I love it.

It was very invigorating down on the beach this morning! Everyone I chatted to was enjoying the strong winds and being hit in the face with salty spray :))

A scene with wave breakers I shot on the North Sea Island of Borkum. Even though it might not seem to be the most beautiful of subjects, it has a certain aesthetic quality that I appreciate. This is non-HDR.

A stormy Atlantic Ocean crashing in on the natural lava pools in Porto Moniz, making swimming there impossible that day. I found it fabulous to just watch the waves rolling in, breaking on the rocks, creating huge amounts of spray and generally making a lot of noise.

There's really not much more to do in Porto Moniz anyway...

I risked my camera and it was worth it

As we drove back up Highway 1 to the ranch at the end of New Year's Day the wind had picked up and the surface of the Pacific Ocean turned into something that resembled an upturned corrugated steel roofing sheet with wave after wave rolling endlessly against the shore.
