Stormy seas today with huge waves off Mendocino, California.

The sea was too rough for Farne boat-trips, so a walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh afforded many a chance of capturing the perfect wave. Good job it wasn't film.

RFA's Wave Ruler (A390) replenishment vessel/fast fleet tanker is moved from Cammell Laird's dock 5 to the wet basin. She was assisted by Smit Waterloo, Zeebrugge, Smit Donau and Smit Belgie.

 

She proceeded into the wet basin stern first.

Even without winds, the sea swells slam on to our rocky coastline making a symphony of sounds with some pretty good bass..
