I had to drive out to my daughter's college in Kenosha. Despite being in one of my worst flareups, I had to stop at the shore to do a short, 8 second, text-able video for the Disabled Guy (he didn't believe me that Lake Michigan has waves like the ocean).
And while I was there, I took a bunch of photos of a few seagulls.

Standing where I was when I took this image was scary. Huge waves lifting up water to head height before crashing down mere feet in front of me.
Is that Skellig Michael in the background?
Waves Vienna 2016 is the city’s first club- and showcase festival. In autumn Vienna’s most significant clubs, unique off-locations, and the public space will merge into the site of the Waves Vienna Festival.

Waves Vienna’s motto is „East meets West“; numerous international alternative, electronic, rock, and club acts will be performing around Vienna’s 9th district. Additionally, local artists and sophisticated musicians from Eastern Europe form an essential part of the festival’s programme.
This year, Waves Vienna will welcome two countries as special guests. True to the motto “East Meets West”, there will be a focus on acts from these countries in the live programme. The Waves Vienna Music Conference will furthermore devote a part of its programme to the respective music markets and scenes of these countries.

The Waves Vienna Music Conference constitutes a part of the festival and offers the possibility to attend lectures and panels and participate in workshops. Anyone out there taken a series of shots only to find they had their camera on the wrong setting?
Prior to taking this shot I had been trying to take shots at a wedding in low light, so I cranked up the ISO. Now, every (well, almost every) time I finish a subject I reset everything so I know that should I need the camera quickly I have it all ready to go. But after a few pints at a wedding, things begin to slip!
Thinking all was hunky-dory I started to flick away on a walk on New Zealand’s North Island. It wasn’t till a little later that I found I had the ISO at 800-school boy error. However it did let me shoot faster which meant I could freeze the water as it hit the rocks, lucky break!
For this photo I positioned myself, put the camera on rapid fire and waited for a big wave. I got three shots off (this being the best of them, obviously!) before I had to do the protective spin-hunch-embrace maneuver (you know the one) before the camera got wet.

Gloomy wet Sundays in October are a world away from the hot summer days of August (or in this case, even the previous week!). Here, the Twister and Outrage rides each entertain just two people at a time. Outrage is nearing the end of its first season operating at the Pleasure Beach; with Twister nearing the end of its twelfth.
Twister takes its themeing from the 1996 film Twister with the back-flash featuring airbrush art depicting the two main characters of the film, whom are played by Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton.

I actually spent $50 for this bunch of sorry looking dolls and since there’s actually too much to actually through it at once, i’ll just give a basic run down of what I got at the Doll show thingy first.
-Nude swim class Holt ($15), who I swapped arms with my customized wave 1 Holt since SC holt’s upper arms are really hard to yank arms out from and I didnt wanna put them together for photo’s sake
-Four Wizard of Oz dolls ($18), though two are from different companies than Mattel and are made much earlier than them, includes nightmare fuel scarecrow who possibly does cocaine
-Lot of 3 vintage GI Joes ($10) in various states of disrepair, including the fact that there’s no right hands, or that their left hands are so brittle fingers are breaking or broken off and discoloured. Included was a random forearm that didn’t fit into the upper arm of one of the guys and masking tape feet
-Missing Arms School’s Out Clawdeen and Deuce’s left arm, as well as his hip pin being broken and pants missing
