We will leave Udaipur where we began, on the side of the lake where nature rules over the fairy tale palaces.

I took this picture of Padres Butte while riding on the boat. The water waves created by the moving boat added to the effect. No tripod was used.

One of the things I knew I wanted to do in Botswana was to go through the Okavango Delta in a mokoro (canoe). One has to depend on nature in order to do this and thank heavens the water level accommodated me. The boat was more modern than the ones that have historically traversed the water ways, but this fiberglass one is probably more practical.
I went on this ride in the late afternoon and I can safely say that it was the most peaceful and picturesque two hours of my lifetime. Other guests in the lodge felt the same way.

The colors produced by the sun setting on the flood plains of Chobe Park were quite spectacular. Pristine Botswana awakens the senses at all hours and the blue hour is no exception. The elephants were enjoying the water as were the Cape Buffaloes.
