Friends, on July 5th, for the first time since May, I was able to get out of the house. We went to the Biltmore Estate (10 minutes from our house) and spent about an hour taking photos. It was a perfect summer day, partly sunny with beautiful fulsome clouds. The fragrance of the abundant greenery and freshly mown hay was delicious. What a treat to be out in nature after being cooped up in the house for such a long time! I am grateful.

This house boat on the backwaters of Kerala left our house boat in the dust. He was in a hurry, perhaps to pick up new guests! Most of the house boats have been renovated from old rice barges. They come in all shapes and sizes and some are quite elegant. All are very comfortable inside.

Floating Hotel

Kerala is another jewel in the beautiful country of India. I have already mentioned the canals and lakes which make up the water wonderland! However, it is the many floating water flowers that adorn the waters that make this a place like no other place I have seen in the world.

I will be on and off for a few days! I will stop by when I can.

at day's end. We've been having warm humid days and lovely short rains almost every afternoon. The soft moist fragrant air is delightful.

The majestic arches found along the canals and bridges of Venice will be a part of my memory for a long while. They gracefully adorn the water ways and speak of the glorious and opulent maritime history of Venice.
