I'd previously been at the other end of Banbury Street earlier in the year when I took shots of the former Eagle & Tun pub. I had no idea back then that a Grade II* listed building was at the end of the road.
I checked beforehand on Heritage Gateway for any Grade II* listed buildings in Digbeth and the Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House came up.
For a Sunday morning there was no one here, might also be due to it's location, other side of the railway line.
Quite regularly down here I head trains passing by loudly.
Obviously this place was built before the railway line existed (but probably after the local canal was built).
Near here is Proof House Junction (on both the railway line and canal).
A warning sign on Banbury Street, warning you that car thieves are active in this area. From the West Midlands Police.

or be prepared to stop to flickr?
In any case, I wanted to get this sign set out at a staging area for road construction. However I did not have the nerve to pick it up and move it upside down to read right-side up for my camera. Since I was taking photos quickly, I didn't want to risk being accused of interfering with state property in any way. Just for the heck of it, I tried this shot and hoped to see what would happen if I simply turned it 180˚ in Photoshop. Apparently, shooting with a wide-angle lens just makes the distortion of perspective more pronounced. Oh well, in any case, I was prepared and got all kinds of shots here.

Hope the criminals will leave my eighteen year old Acura TLS Type alone. It has just enough problems for now. Sheeesh!

In June 2011 I visited Cyprus and took a trip to Verosha - the ghost town resort at Famagusta. In 1974 Turkey invaded Cyprus and following UN intervention the resort of Verosha / Famagusta was sealed off from habitation thus creating a ghost town. It remains in that state to this day and it is prohibited to visit it or photograph.
The dispute between Turkey and Greek Cypriots prevent the area beinginhabited or redeveloped.
Although photography is prohibited - guards intervene when you are caught - I have to say it is worth a visit to witness what has taken place there - and record it of course.
I managed to sneak some images and will post soon.

One of the two types of warning traffic-sign "Children" in Covasna, a town with mixed ethnic Romanian and Székely in Covasna county, Romania. Note the dream-like depiction of the two young people.
Every school in eastern Ukraine is now displays these warning signs. While the signboard on the left explains the dangers posed by unexploded munitions and mines, the panel on the right explains where to seek shelter in a building in case of shelling.
Landmines and unexploded ordinances (UXOs) were the lead cause of child casualties in 2017, accounting for about two-thirds of all recorded deaths and injuries that left many children with lifelong disabilities. For the past 12 months, the EU has funded mine clearing near civilian areas by the Danish Refugee Council that also provides mine-awareness sessions for schoolchildren.

Warning sign on gate at vehicular entrance to the Smithsonian American Art Museum (parking garage? loading dock?), on 9th Street NW in Washington, DC. The stick figure getting bonked on the head caught my eye.

"Kids - and over active adults - please don't run": warning signage at Sugarloaf Point lighthouse, NSW.
I love a witty sign!

You rarely see a sign for the Railway Executive - the nationalised parent of the British Railways Board that existed during the 1950s. This little sign has a marvellous typeface and I so love that uppercase "W"! And 40/ (Fourty pre-decimal shillings or two pounds) fine - I wonder if I could acquire the sign for a couple of quid!
Broomfield Hospital is located in the Borough of Chelmsford in Essex (UK) and is proud to be a smoke free facility.. Whatever that means.
Kind of ironic then that staff from the hospital and nearby ambulance station in NHS uniforms together with patients regularly gather a few yards from here just off the premises of the hospital on North Court Road to have a quick puff like naughty schoolchildren in full view of arriving and departing guests of the hotel.. I mean hospital.

A strage form of the warning sign, seen in Periş, a small town some 30 km north of Bucharest. It is clearly derived from the standard form, with the distinction that neither of the charcters is carrying a briefcase. Note the curious rendering of the young man's legs, and the difference between the robust male figure and the gracile female figure. This picture has been slightly retouched by eliminating offensive graffiti.
