lovely cafes find shelter in the front yard of a church in Mainz, built in this characteristic dusty pink stone, seen quite often around the city.
Loved the marriage of then and now....

and was taken by details such as the chalkboard to write the menu on, the old, stone floor, the outdoor furniture and the choice of bright pink pots for the little green plants.
It had just started to rain, which might have prevented us from sitting outside, but added a lot to the intense feeling of being there.

A dune fence used to help stabilize the the coastal dunes in central Florida and to keep people from climbing and driving on the dunes. Shot in digital infrared.
For some reason this one has a lot more views than my other photos that happen to have more comments. I suppose this photo insinuates enough interest for a click to view it a bit larger but nothing more than that. Not that I really care. I just think it's interesting.
