Washing with golden lights.

I took a shot of my globe which represents geography and both start with "G".

A quiet, contemplative portrait framed by dry branches — a moment where emotion and nature blend softly at dusk. Subtle, intimate, and beautifully raw..

An old tractor rests in the fading sun, worn by years yet glowing with quiet dignity. Rust has become its skin, time its companion, and the golden hour its last crown. It speaks of labor long finished, of fields once alive, of memories etched in steel and dust — a relic of endurance, bathed in light that feels like remembrance.

"Blue Heron Flight Over Painterly Sunset" by Patti Deters. A majestic Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) flies through the sky with outstretched wings, set against a dramatic sunset background full of warm tones and painterly clouds. The evening light highlights the bird and sky with a soft peaceful glow. These wading birds are beautiful to see when in flight, even though they look a bit pre-historic with their wide wingspans and skinny legs. Thank you for viewing this picture. Thank you all for the fine comments & loving it. Have a great weekend everyone...

Attached ND4 & polarizer filter and toy around with color balance for that warm golden glow.

Topazlab helps to boost saturation & contrast.

for as long as i can remember, i have wanted a daughter. in my early 20's i started a very personal photographic project, all black and white images of vintage little girls' dresses, called "solla's effects". i considered the project finished after my father passed away in 1999...i found one of the dresses in the back of gemma's closet today. with this image, the project really is complete.

maybe now i will drag the box of prints out and see about scanning them.

There is something deeply comforting in a sincere smile — not staged, not loud, just quietly alive.

A portrait filled with warmth, softness, and a gentle human presence.

Leica M7 is ideal for this kind of picture - it's a range finder so one can still frame and focus with the IR filter on. And the light meter gives totally accurate readings too!

I just love this place so much, this is the second go I've had on this image... I might try again one day, see if I can add even more mood to it!

A painterly nature portrait of a monarch butterfly suspended in warm, golden light. The softly glowing background and gentle bokeh create an impressionistic atmosphere, allowing the rich orange wings to stand out in quiet contrast.

This image focuses on light, colour, and motion, capturing a fleeting moment that feels both calm and luminous, where the butterfly seems to drift effortlessly through a sunlit field.
