The Worthing War Memorial stands outside the Town Hall in Chapel Road and contains 660 surnames and initials. The Memorial includes most of the men from the Parishes of Broadwater, Durrington, West Tarring, Heene St. Pauls Church Memorial in Chapel Road and the Roman Catholic Church. Those men not included are mostly to be found under a separate entry for those Parishes. This entry does not claim to be a complete picture for Worthing as many men were not included originally, but the main memorial is now recorded for the First World War, the Second World War has a further 404 names and there are three names listed for other conflicts.

The First World War section of the memorial was unveiled on 11th April 1921 by Field-Marshal Sir William Robertson. It takes the form of a stone plinth on top of which is a soldier made from bronze holding a rifle in his left hand and his helmet aloft with his right hand, the base is covered with the debris of war. The plinth is surrounded by a low chain and has a wreath at the top of each face. The effigy of the soldier is the same figure that is used on the Chertsey, Ebbw Vale, Truro and King Edward Street Post office, London, memorials.

The inscriptions on the memorial read as:

The next series of photos were taken at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Ontario. (Comments disabled until the last image.)

The National War Memorial, also known as "The Response," is a cenotaph symbolizing the sacrifice of all Canadian Armed Forces personnel who have served Canada in time of war in the cause of peace and freedom — past, present and future. The memorial is the site of the national Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11.

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have posted sentries at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier since 2007. On Oct. 22, 2014, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was tragically killed while on sentry duty. Sentry duty at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider now holds an even deeper meaning for both the CAF and the Canadian public.

"Look sir, droids"

Yep, thats pretty much it. Here we have a BB unit, two T7 units and an FX series medical droid.

In terms of complexity, the medical droid was the hardest, mainly because getting the antennae/arms to stay in required the precision of, well, a surgeon. The entire thing is built around a five/six (I call them five but I think its six) stud long bar.

Now for all you looking at the T7's and thinking "Dayum that fine, I gotta build me one of them", you're in luck, as I made a how to video god knows how long ago.

And there's even one for the BB unit!

Hope everyone has enjoyed this memorial week-end. This photo is in appreciation to all who have served to preserve our rights as people. This US Cemetery and Memorial is just south of Florence Italy and covers about 70 acres. Most of those buried here are from the Fifth Army who died in the fighting that followed the capture of Rome in June 1944. It is managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission. Info from Wikipedia. A beautiful setting tucked along a river and surrounded by rolling hills. Chose this point of view as all shadows point to a cross. This photo was taken in 2005 while wandering around Italy and Greece.

as a Battlefield fan, i'm really hyped for Battlefield 1. Thought i'd do a little figure thing after watching how awesome the gameplay looked. Enjoy! :)

July 2025. The Israeli Stock Market reached an all-time high of 3,156.35.

We are taking Palestine.

This image is not about provocation, but about truth.

In July 2025, the Israeli Stock Market reached an all-time high of 3,156.35 points, while the war against Palestine kept causing death and devastation.

This is not an invented figure: it comes from financial sources and economic news reports.

Israel profits, Palestine dies.

THE WAR ON WASTE...please People, help relieve landfill by using a reusable mug. Takeaway mugs are not recyclable because of the plastic lining so it all goes to landfill...millions of tonnes of it....this mug came from Officeworks...BPA free white plastic, has the green band so that you can hold it while hot. There are many more in various stores.

This mug is an 8oz size, not too big to carry with you in case you feel like a takeaway coffee...many bistros are happy to give a discount.

No idea which specific uniforms these are - I'm guessing they are mostly French - but maybe also German. I stayed in the hotel in the main square that was used by the Nazi command in WW2.

Anyone have any ideas?

This is my latest (and best) creation: The Jedi Tempel from Star Wars The Clone Wars.

After NINE months of work it's finally finished and I'm very happy to show it to you today. I really hope you like it and I'd be happy to read your comments. Favs appreciated (as always;D).

It's made out of three components and the two top layers are easy to detach and reveal a peak into the interior.

I hope you like it as much as I do. More pictures from the interior - which includes the Jedi Archives, Council, Holocron chamber and more - follow soon here on flickr.

Long unimaginable, now reality again. A new era begins. I am deeply concerned and I know what humanitarian misery is beginning now. It may sound helpless, but let's give peace a chance.
