Milwaukee S3 Northern 4-8-4 #267 sits on the ready tracks at West Milwaukee shops just east of roundhouse 2 during WW2. Up above is the Merrill Park neighborhood and the high tension lines for the streetcar/interurban TMERL.

Going through more archives....mostly looking through photos from 2015. This was taken in September 2015 at the Civil War reenactment at Van Raalte Farm in Holland Michigan. Here is shot of a soldier before they went into battle.
I can't believe that it was 5 years ago that I went to this reenactment. Nothing going on this year, that stinks.
So would this be like street photography from the mid 1800's?
In the morning, an F15 Eagle,constantly circling high overhead, with a final strike run on a local ex military camp.
In the afternoon, hovering high, a Kestrel, strangely, under the flight path of the Eagle's final strike run.
I leave you with that thought.
Graves for german soldiers and refugees after WW2. Around 9000 people are buried here.
The crosses have 2 names on either side. The flat markers have several names, those are mostly refugees afaik.
We seem all too eager to repeat our mistakes.

This War Machine is pretty great. I was skeptical because the Toybiz version is probably one of the best in that era, but this figure does mark an improvement.

Der Luitpoldhügel, auf dem das Bronzekreuz steht, wurde aus dem Trümmerschutt der im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerbombten Gebäuden Münchens aufgeschüttet. Zu Ehren derer, die ihr Leben in den Trümmern lassen mussten, wurde das Bronzekreuz zum Gedenken errichtet. In der Inschrift ist geschrieben "Betet und gedenkt all der unter den Bergen von Trümmern Verstorbenen".
Von dieser Seite des Luitpoldhügels hat man außerdem einen schönen Blick über den Norden Münchens mit dem Olympiaturm und der Allianz Arena.

Luitpold Hill, on which the bronze cross stands, was built up from the rubble debris of Munich’s buildings that were bombed and destroyed during World War II. The bronze cross was erected as a memorial in honor of those who lost their lives in the ruins. The inscription reads: ‘Pray and remember all those who died beneath the mountains of rubble.’
From this side of Luitpold Hill, there is also a beautiful view over northern Munich, including the Olympic Tower and the Allianz Arena
Das Schweriner Schloss war jahrhundertelang die Residenz der mecklenburgischen Herzöge und Großherzöge und ist heute Sitz des Landtages von Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Das auf der Schlossinsel im Stadtzentrum von Schwerin gelegene Bauwerk ist das bekannteste und prächtigste der über zweitausend Schlösser und Herrenhäuser in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Beispiele des Romantischen Historismus in Europa. Es gehört mit den einstigen Herzogsschlössern von Güstrow, Ludwigslust und Neustrelitz zu den Hauptresidenzen in Mecklenburg.
Das Schloss ist ein in einem tausendjährigen Prozess historisch gewachsenes Bauwerk. Seine ringförmige Gestalt geht auf eine Wallanlage einer slawischen Burg zurück, die circa 941/42 auf einer kleinen ufernahen Insel im Schweriner See errichtet wurde. Die Umgestaltungsphasen dieses Baukomplexes durch die Jahrhunderte sind ab etwa 1500 durch eine Fülle schriftlicher und bildlicher Zeugnisse umfassend dokumentiert.
Das heutige Schloss entstand durch einen tiefgreifenden Um- und Neubau des alten Schlosses in den Jahren 1845 bis 1857 nach Plänen von vier bedeutenden Architekten: Georg Adolf Demmler, Gottfried Semper, Friedrich August Stüler und Ernst Friedrich Zwirner. Für die überwiegende Neorenaissance-Architektur dienten unter anderem französische Renaissanceschlösser als Vorbild. So sind diverse Details durch das Schloss Chambord an der Loire inspiriert. Doch auch regionale mecklenburgische Motive im Johann-Albrecht-Stil spielten eine große Rolle.
Aufgrund seiner romantischen Erscheinung und der vergleichbaren Magnetwirkung für Besucher wird das Schweriner Schloss auch als „Neuschwanstein des Nordens“, „Cinderella-Schloss“ und als „Märchenschloss“ bezeichnet. Es ist als Bestandteil des Residenzensembles Schwerin – Kulturlandschaft des romantischen Historismus ein deutscher Kandidat für das UNESCO-Welterbe. (Wikipedia)

I wasn't planning on building anything for May 4th but after seeing all the amazing art people where posting for Star Wars day, I couldn’t help myself.
This droid has been on my to-do list for quite some time. They appear in the video game Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order as enemy hired by the imperial inquisitor to hunt down Jedi Kal Kestis (it also appeared in The Force Awakens outside Maz Kanata's Castle).
They are originally used for loading cargo but these units have been reprogrammed and modified by the Haxion Brood crime syndicate for bounty hunting work.

Diese kleine Wacholderdrossel war heute den ganzen Vormittag im Garten. Ich hatte wieder klein geschnittene Äpfel in den Garten gelegt. Diese hat sie vor den vielen Amseln verteidigt. Sie ist auch dann nicht weggeflogen, als eine Amsel laut schreiend vor einem Sperber flüchtete. Die Amsel flog eine kleine Kurve in Richtung Terrasse und der Sperber geradeaus und landete auch im Garten. Da er keine Beute machen konnte verschwand er sofort wieder. Die kleine Wacholderdrossel hatte er zum Glück nicht gesehen. Erst am frühen Nachmittag war sie satt und ist weggeflogen. Da ich heute Vormittag im Wintergarten mit einer Näharbeit beschäftigt war, konnte ich sie die ganze Zeit beobachten.
This little Fieldfare was today in the garden all morning. I had again placed small apples in the garden. This has defended them from the many blackbirds. She did not fly away even when a blackbird fled aloud from a sparrowhawk. The blackbird flew a small curve towards the terrace and the sparrowhawk went straight and landed in the garden. Since he could not make any prey, he immediately disappeared. He had not seen the little Fieldfare. It was not until early afternoon that she was full and flew away. Since I was busy with a needlework in the winter garden this morning, I could observe it all the time.

Located at Bold Venture Park in Darwen, Blackburn.
One historic feature of the park is the war memorial, (listed grade II) close to the main entrance. It was unveiled in 1921 and stands symbolically for the five years of World War I, on five stone steps.
The park is now listed in the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens (grade II).
