Aha, man spricht deutsch!
Hiking is the big thing on La Gomera. Our tour #1 led from El Guro in the Valle Gran rey to a nearby waterfall in the Barranco de Aurure. Most of the Hikers seem to be German, as the start of this hike indicates: It is in German (but English speaking people can use it as well!) You find it opposite the parking places at the main street in El Guro, Valle Gran Rey!

Bekannte Strecke wieder aufgefrischt.

Today was one of those days where I had to spend a lot of time driving in Indiana, and the next trip pictures require some text I don't feel like writing right now, so I'm just going to drop in a filler picture that matches the road buzz. This is somewhere in rural Franklin County, Indiana, outside the town of Metamora. Fall is upon us, but the trees in this part of Indiana are only about a third of the way through the process.
I'll get back in trip mode tomorrow, but I'll probably be thrown off again next weekend.

The Conservatory Gardens of Central Park are still barren after the winter. The staff have planted new flowers, but they're largely still in the infant stages (as far as plant life cycles go).
I found this bush there; arguably it was one of the more colorful things around. Some of its early flowers can be seen.
What I like about this picture is how easy it is go get "lost" inside of it. Even though this bush was only medium-sized, this picture almost makes it seem as though it were a forest in itself.
Shot with an Olympus E-520 and Zuiko Digital 50mm f/2.0 Macro lens, with lens hood equipped and with a Hoya UV filter. Shot hand-held with IS mode 1 enabled. This is an uncropped picture. Maximum image resolution has been scaled down to 1600x1200 for upload. This is a camera JPEG that has not been subject to any additional post-processing. The following settings were used on-camera: sharpness, saturation, and contrast to +1; gradation set to normal; white balance set to "sunny," ESP metering.
Test print (Giclee) on heavy watercolor paper. So far so good.
