The wander track light walking route is the highlight of the Dordrecht December Days. Can be admired daily from 5 pm to 10 pm in the historic city center from December 9 to January 8 (with the exception of December 25 and 31). Take a journey through time at twelve locations with beautiful light projections that tell stories from the Canon of Dordrecht. On the flyer of the Dordtse December Days (available at VVV Dordrecht, winter squares and various catering establishments, among others) you can puzzle along during the wander track and you have a chance to win a nice prize. Puzzle unraveled? Enter your answer here. Those who visit the city center in the evening will find themselves in a fairytale setting. A route with light art takes you along special locations during Dwaalspoor. Breathtaking animations and light projections provide a magical journey through time from the Hof of Holland, to the Big church.

Wandern im Wental auf der Schwäb. Alb
Eine einzigartige Naturlandschaft, die vor etwa 150 Millionen Jahren entstand.
Auf der Albhochfläche, südöstlich der Nachbargemeinde Bartholomä, erstreckt sich über die Gemarkung von Essingen, bis ins Steinheimer Becken das Wental. Entstanden ist diese einzigartige Naturlandschaft aus dem Flussbett des Wasserlaufes Wedel. Dieser hat sich, als das Jurameer abzog und die Alb vor etwa 150 Millionen Jahren zu verkarsten begann, immer tiefer ins Gestein gefressen, bis er völlig versickerte. Zurück blieben das Wental und die seltsam geformten Dolomitfelsen. Sie stellen ein eindurcksvolles Zeugnis der Kraft des Wassers dar. Diese urigen und bizarren Felsformationen erstrecken sich über fast das gesamte Wental. Jedoch häufen sie sich im Bereich des Felsenmeeres, so dass der Eindruck einer wahren Flut unterschiedlichster Felsformationen entsteht.

A unique natural landscape that was formed around 150 million years ago.
The Wental stretches across the Essingen district on the Alb plateau, southeast of the neighboring municipality of Bartholomä, and into the Steinheim Basin. This unique natural landscape was created from the riverbed of the Wedel watercourse. When the Jurassic Sea receded and the Alb began to karstify around 150 million years ago, the watercourse ate deeper and deeper into the rock until it completely disappeared. What remained was the Wental and the strangely shaped dolomite rocks. They are an impressive testimony to the power of water. These rustic and bizarre rock formations extend across almost the entire Wental. However, they are concentrated in the area of the rock sea, creating the impression of a veritable flood of different rock formations.

……Another from last year when we were in Cumbria, we went for an afternoon amble in the Whinlatter Forest near Braithwaite, you get various glimpses of Bassenthwaite Lake at various stages improving as you climb. Hope the week has started well, stay cosy & locked down to stay safe and to keep EVERYONE else safe too! When I went to Orkney I spent a couple of days on one of the smaller islands, Rousay. On the first morning I explored Faraclett Head. It is a great place to lose yourself while watching out for the many birds there. Orkney has about 70 islands and is about ten miles off the north coast of the Scottish mainland. I think 20 of the islands are inhabited.

Die Saison ist eigentlich schon vorbei. Die schönen Teile sieht man nicht mehr wirklich. Aber das finde ich nicht schlimm, denn auch die verbleibenden Teile finde ich wunderschön und faszinierend.
Ich bin gespannt, ob ich sie dieses Jahr nochmal erwische. Der heutige Abend hat sich auf alle Fälle gelohnt.
Woodland Wanders On Latrigg
Once we had been on Latrigg and the mist had eventually covered us, we head down again but stopped at the mist filled woods.
There is almost a trend for doing these kinds of shots just now, woodland wanders on a misty morning.

Der Crestasee liegt zwischen Flims und Trin im schweizerischen Kanton Graubünden auf 844 m Höhe. Er liegt mit etwas mehr als die Hälfte der Fläche auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Flims, der Rest gehört zu Trin. Der Name leitet sich ab vom lateinischen Wort crista für «Geländekamm». Wikipedia
