"And I can sum it all up in just one word: courage, dedication, daring, pride, pluck, spirit, grit, mettle, and G-U-T-S, *guts*. Why, Ted Striker's got more guts in his little finger than most of us have in our large intestine, including the colon! "
The Covenant Transport truck was standing across the county road from our local post office. I saw it when I went to pick up the mail from my P.O. Box.
A flatbed was parked not far from the truck.
The first volume in my science fiction series is called Covenant (available from Aisling Press). Naturally, I had to cross the county road and set up this shot.
That's a lot of books... :-)
When I saw this potato, the shape immediately reminded me of the ancient figurine "the Venus of Willendorf"
Eh, what can I say. I'm sure at some point it was considered 'ironic' or even 'amusing', but that was certainly a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. So I guess I had my dad take this shot as some sort of meta-commentary on the whole concept.

With all of the media hype about this month's super moon, I took some photos of it and blended with a Superman posing cutout from the rest stop outside of Metropolis, IL we stopped at last month. So much for a visual pun, eh?
. . . . . when you're having fun :-)

Of course these aren't real flies - they wouldn't sit still long enough for me to take a picture. I cannot for the life of me remember why I have these plastic flies in my possession, but they came in handy for this assignment anyway.
WIT:
A couple of watches on the bed, window light from behind, plastic flies plonked on top.

this scene reminded me of the Twilight Zone episode "The After Hours" starring Anne Francis as a department store shopper haunted by mannequins.
Active Assignment Weekly: Visual Puns.
I thought it might be fun to take pictures of subjects that are visual puns, dig into our imagination and humour a bit.
Restriction: No using photoshop to reconstruct an image - if arranging of objects is needed, it must be done prior to taking the shot. You may use post-processing to do adjustments such as colour, saturation, cropping, etc.
Dare: Find a visual pun that you just found, and didn't have to arrange before shooting it.
WIT: A little Kosher salt and a triple A battery - w/window light to the left. Shot at F/2.8, 1/60 sec., ISO 1250. CS 6 adjustments to lower the saturation, adjustment to curves for contrast, resize, sharpen, post. That's it.
Oh, the lighting. The gerat framing. The fantastic use of color.
The feeling of motion and dizziness from the angle. Waaaait a second....
This little guy means business.
Oh, um, not business but, well,
he's not foolin' around.
Er, well. HEY!! I know what you're thinking!!--and it's not funny!
So put that thought right back in your head and click on to the next picture
like a good little browser.
Go ahead and try to guess what my father-in-law got me for Christmas. He said it was to help me now that I was working at home.
Update: It's also worth mentioning that the keys are glued to it.
