Macro Mondays: April Fool's
Boxer Delbert "Del" Monte practices his mighty right hook, the secret weapon in his bid to become top banana.
Frame is 3" across.
I can't imagine many people; unless you have an extensive knowledge of French popular culture, will understand the pun I've used for the title to this photograph. I doubt also that many; outside of French speaking territories, will have heard of Georges Brassens either.

For Macro Mondays: Gone Fishing theme.
This image was (quite obviously) manipulated in Photoshop. "Pool Shark" originated as a photo of a very small plastic shark (see comments below) that I distorted in Photoshop and layered with another (macro) photograph of refracted pool water.

Four candles reflected in the surface of a smoked glass table top. Couldn't resist the Two Ronnies pun.
someone mentioned it is hard to tell how tall I am.
in this picture I am holding a match, for scale.
the bow tie, the lapel, the perfect red symmetry — and then, he passes. not the man in the suit, but someone just as precise in his own way. black on top, red below, like the street version of a tuxedo. sometimes the world dresses up without asking why.
Sorry for the awful pun but I saw this downy feather floating on the wind. I told my friend Bernard that it would star in a FlickrFoto within the next few minutes and this is the result.
S16: Stanzas, Sonnets, Sailboats, Seas & Skies (Poetography) - IMRAN™
It is an unusual day outside my blessed home. What was simply a few words of cute alliteration in the title of he photo quickly becomes a stanza, then a poem, and suddenly a sonnet with a semantic structural reference couplet for good measure!

AAW January 27 - February 3: In the Style of Chema Madoz
WIT: I like his visual puns, Here's one that is inspired by one of his photos. I used rice for the eyes, and dried up lemon zest for the eyebrows, and pine nuts for the nose. I get cut-eye from my students sometimes when I tell them they are not practicing enough, lol!
Made Explore, haha!
Strobist: 580EXII camera left, 1/4 power, bounced off ceiling. Gelled SB-80DX, 1/32, behind pot for burner light, removed in PP with second exposure. Third shot of control knob in Medium setting position added in PP.
Thanks to rafallano for noticing it was #165 on Explore for Dec 6, 2008.
6/5/09: Got as high up as #31 in Explore! Woot!
My nephew holding my idea of a funny visual pun.
(I'd planned on having him wear his mask, but sadly he doesn't have it anymore.)

Sunrise/Solar/Energy/Transmission/Transportation - IMRAN™
During my recent visit to Pakistan, my brother were being driven to Islamabad from Lahore for a quick short trip for meetings he and I both had to attend coincidentally on the same date, We still had a 4-hours drive ahead of us. As we drove towards the motorway (expressway) I was trying to catch a picture of the sunrise (my mistake on the title) through the moving vehicle with lots of traffic around city roads. There were also lots of power transmission lines running parallel to the city exit road. If you can't lick 'em, join 'em, I thought. Making the best of an impossible situation of capturing a sunset by itself, I tried to capture it silhouetting one of the massive high voltage power transmission line towers. I got that timing pretty tight, but I could not prevent a rickshaw (three-wheeled Italian style mini-taxis notorious for their terrible fumes and pollution, until a lot of them converted to liquid natural gas. I was tempted to delete the photo, but suddenly it dawned on me.... pun intended... Sunrise, Solar, Energy, Power, Transmission, Transportation, all in shot, made more surreal by the motion blur of an unknown rickshaw driver caught in silhouette.

what? don't you get it?
keep looking
laugh
:-D
Saw this today in Newport and my brain nearly imploded. I had to be really quick to get out my iPhone and snap away. I've cropped it a bit and not processed at all, couldn't bring myself to do that to such a funny image.
I can see the Hollywood movie now- "The Falcon and the Shuttlecock". Clearly a spy/action movie along the lines of Bourne meets Bond. Am I right? I love this old Art Deco, Bakelite, bellows pocket camera that I picked up a few years ago.
English not being my mother tongue, I did some research to embed as many visual puns as I could into my picture. There are at least 4 of them here, can you spot them? :-)
1. Easiest one: the head is floating in the air like a balloon, obviously, the girl must be light-headed.
2. There is a strong light at the end of the road, and the girl is heading to it: she is light-headed.
3. It's getting harder now: the giant hands over the horizon suggest that a very big creature is standing there. If this assumption is true, then his head must be that strong light: the giant is light-headed.
4. The whole scenery is distorted, as if the viewer himself had vision problems, like when you are light-headed.
All the photos (field, biker, hands, moon, sky) have been shot by me, no stock photo. Hope you like it!
