From Orly Avineri's journaling class on Tuesday October 13th at Harmony Works! We were working with layers. The quote says "I think I have a lot of crazy layers." by Blythe Danner. This also includes packing tape image transfer "airships".
I've been at the Holy Shit Shopping:
I met Christian and Andrea from the "Feine billeterie" - very nice!
www.feine-billetterie.de/index.html
And I fell in love with fox "Yves" (from www.nikoki.de/)- my friend Nicola bought it for me secretly and gave it to me in the evening in the cocktail bar where we met my brother and two other friends. SO CUTE!
O-wire bound from day 1 to 26. Such a lovely and long journey filled with thousand pieces of old Christmas memories.
3 December 2005
at my desk most of the day today while snow fell in big flakes outside my office window . . . still wearing my jammies . . . no need to put on real clothes since the only world i’ve interacted with today is the one beyond my computer screen . . . and the fictional world of my latest book.
one of those long, dark, surreal days where i don’t feel like i really exist . . . only a couple of phone calls . . . but other than that it’s like there isn’t a world beyond my front door . . . like i could open it right now and just step out into a vast nothingness, like what’s out there is actually my imagination and what’s in here is really all there is.
days like this i appreciate my girl the most. she’s just always there . . . sprawled out in her bed behind my chair . . . or nudging her head into my lap like this, reminding me to take breaks. of course, i'm not completely naive: i know it’s far more likely she’s doing this because she figures that by engaging me she’ll get to go for a walk or at least have me do some work with her.
she is my anchor. she is with me almost 24/7. in the three and a half years i’ve had her, i’ve been separated from matea only twice - once when i lay for three days in hospital with a shattered ankle, and then just this past summer for a week while i was in baltimore researching the latest book. sometimes - my girl - she’s the only reality in my small world of make-believe.
page four. the yellowed papers aren't so clearly different colors in real life.
materials: printed card stock, blank paper ripped from a vintage book, masking tape, and a picture torn from the pages of an issue of good housekeeping, circa 1945.
words: "in my arms," by snow patrol and "sing to me," by sleeping at last.
This year I planned to clear away all stuff after use immediately. But... look at the shoes on the left page. (I cleared them away after drawing, really. ;-)
Those cloudy creatures arised on my tissue where I wipe of my brushes and it would had been a pity to throw them away.
Here's a journal page I just finished about an hour ago. It's about some issues that have been building . . . and not sure what the solution is. But it felt great to work in my journal. I haven't been taking the time to do it lately.
materials: printed cardstock, a plain piece of paper, pieces ripped from a map, and a plane cut out of a magazine.
words: lyrics from "the new year," by death cab for cutie.
What began as a doodle in my Moleskine became this bit of art, "Happenstance", if you will.
Supplies used: Pitt Brush Pens, black Micron pens, Prismacolor pencils, dye ink markers and time all in my 5x8 blank page Moleskine.

I just finished a journal page for the new year. It was so cold in my studio, even with 2 heaters going, I had to work while wearing my coat and gloves with the fingertips cut off. I had to come into my house a few times to warm up, but I was determined to work in my journal today.

I start to get over that I won't find a calendar with better paper than the Mokeskine calenders with one page for each day. So I get to like using a notebook with blanc pages, without calendar.
That's why I created an everlasting calendar stamp. When I ordered it online I discoverd the printy dater with date and weekday. I ordered it with, because not at least the shipping costs should amortize. ;-)

Diese Idee habe ich von Petra A. Bauer: In diesem Videotutorial wird erklärt, wie man aus PET-Flaschen einen Blumentopf mit Bewässerungssystem macht.

I saw a window sill still life photo in Geninne D. Zlatkis' IG account and grabbed some gelli prints and went to work. I love how this one turned out. The top of the right page is frottage from our heating stove.
