8x10 Deardorff w/ Kodak lens Polaroid 809 transfer print

Rochester Carlton 8x10 View camera - Versar Portrait & View Lens

4x5 210mm lens. Positive image overexposed to make a good negative for printing.

Gelatin-silver photograph on Agfa Classic MCC III VC FB photographic paper, image size 24.4cm X 19.4cm, from a 4x5 Tmax 100 negative exposed in a Tachihara 45GF field view camera fitted with a Voigtlander Anastigmat Skopar 1:4.5 F = 13.5cm lens.

This tree was originally photographed by Harold Cazneaux in May 1937 as the subject for his famous picture "Spirit of Endurance" which received international acclaim. My Voigtlander lens dates from 1928 but it is not nearly as old as the tree which still prospers today.

I was excited to try out the Nikon 150 f/8 SW and liked the color of this retaining wall compared to the rest of the scene.

The 150mm is very wide on the 8x10 and I quite like it.

Just a display camera now. Very expensive to use now. Film cost, processing cost (out of town), Scanning Cost (out of town).$$$$$

Glad I got to use it in the old days. Only paid $300 for it at a camera show in the mid 1980's.

This is the final steps in the restoration of a Burke & James Grover 4x5 camera. No more battleship gray! Brand new bellows. Brand new tripod mounting block (the original one was missing).

When I think that I had this one sitting in a box in the basement for 20 years... All it needs now is a lens.

This summer it was the golden wedding of my parents, a 50 years marriage.

I took some pictures of the elder membrers of family and friends woth my old Busch Pressman D, just before it began to rain for the week end.

This is Dave Lam. We actively communicate on Twitter, and he's always a good outlet for camera geekery on a slow day. Pretty damn good street photography as well. Taken in Cleveland, OH.

Third roll of film shot in my "new" Bronica ETRS. Went on a hike with viking79, fargo41, chiewy81, and LegoDraggin at the Sac & Fox Trail in Cedar Rapids, IA.

This is a view of the ground glass on viking79's Graflex 4x5 view camera. Selective curve adjustment for the ground glass and the rest of the photo to get the shot I wanted.

Just completed my digital view camera setup with the purchase of a Schneider Digaron 90mm f4.5. These images are unsharpened and a cropped portion of the image at 100%view in Photoshop, Pretty happy with the results so far.

one of the first five 4x5 images i have shot. A big change from small or medium format. Still have to sort out some technical issues (light leaks from improperly loaded film, and i can't decide wether it is worth it to get a polaroid back...

Sarah Jane fancied herself a lady of high society and yet she frittered away her days alone in a basket in a corner, dreaming of better days in far away places.

4x5 for 365 Project details: greggobst.photography/4x5-for-365

Camera: Calumet 45NX 4x5 large format monorail view camera.

Lens: Fujinon-W 210mm F5.6 lens in a Copal B shutter.

Film: Ilford HP5+ 400 ISO Negative Film, shot at 200 ISO.

Exposure: 8 second exposure @ F22 based upon an original reading of 4 seconds and compensated for reciprocity and bellows extension.

Development: Self Developed in Kodak Xtol 1+2 dilution in Paterson Universal Tank using the Taco Method. 13 minutes @ 20 degrees Celsius. Tap water stop bath. Ilford Rapid Fixer. Photo-Flo rinse.

Scanning: Negative scanned with Epson V600 in two scans and merged back together in PhotoShop since the V600 doesn't natively support 4x5 scans in one pass.

Testing out a vintage Kodak Master view 4x5 view camera at Yarmouth Town Landing with the Community House Artists group.

Another challenging shot with the broad dynamic range in this scene, from dark shadows to brilliant sun sneaking through the forest canopy.

The day was windy as well, making it a challenge for longer exposures. I shot this same scene with an orange filter right after however, the wind really wreaked havoc on the image due to the long exposure time of 28 seconds at f45.

I took three different meter readings and decided to use the 3rd reading in the moderate shadows. I wanted to bring out detail in the shadows and have some brilliance in the background where the sun was shining through.

I also ran out of D-76 so I went back to HC-110 for this negative. The problem is that there are no go indications for development times when using HC-110 dilution B and Arista EDU 100.

So I guesstimated ... I figured about 4 minutes for HC-110 B would be good but decided to halve my dilution to extend the development time to 8 minutes. Normally for dilution B I would use 9 mL of HC-110 syrup and 300 mL of water.

In this case, I went 9 mL of HC-110 syrup + 600 mL of water. I developed two 4x5 negatives in this solution.
