I found these near the main beaches in Albufeira which is a city full packed of tourists during summer time.

Sommet incontournable. Mais cette crête se mérite. La vue à 360°. Un peu à l'instar du Ventoux. Le vent comme allié ou comme "ennemi".

The Hohneck. You can see it from a distance, majestic, a bit alpine. You respect it, admire it and fear it. Must-see summit. But this ridge is deserved. The 360° view. A bit like the Ventoux. The wind as an ally or as "enemy".

{EXSPLORE 12 GIUGNO 2017}

Grey birds against a grey sea are not usually popular so I'm not expecting much attention on this one. But this was my fifth visit to Baja and this was the first time I have managed to capture a photo of one. They are a common enough sight off Baja, but they are usually whizzing past at a distance. Similarly Manx Shearwater is a fairly common sight around British coasts but it took me years to get a decent photograph. Actually Black-vented Shearwater was once though to be a Pacific subspecies of Manx Shearwater and the two do look quite similar, apart from the black vent (under the tail) just visible here. Here's a Manx Shearwater for comparison: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/52262377959/in/photolist

95% of the world population of Black-vented Shearwater nests on a single island off Baja; Isla Natividad, though a few pairs nest on Guadalupe and San Benitos (which we visited). But like Manx Shearwater they only visit their nesting burrows under cover of darkness. Its scientific name Puffinus opisthomelas simply translates as shearwater with a black behind.

Paternoster Vents also known as Vents or Angel's Wings. It is a stainless steel sculpture by Thomas Heatherwick located in Paternoster Square London. The sculpture provides ventilation for an underground electrical substation.

buildings tend to be more colourful here. I feel that there are more opportunities for abstracts like these. Will post more once I return. Hope everyone had a great Xmas!!!!!

Sometimes the weather just isn't in your favour for getting out with the camera and it creates the opportunity to look at your photography in a different way. This is just one example of how I have had to look at my photography and I do enjoy the chance to find other ways of being creative. I hope you like this as much as my other work.

Samedi soir au marché de Noël

Our way of living has consequences.

simulacro dell’apparire ?

A nonno

M

Nonno, l'argento della tua canizie

rifulge nella luce dei sentieri:

passi tra i fichi, tra i susini e i peri

con nelle mani un cesto di primizie:

«Le piogge di Settembre già propizie

gonfian sul ramo fichi bianchi e neri,

susine claudie... A chi lavori e speri

Gesù concede tutte le delizie!».

Dopo vent'anni, oggi, nel salotto

rivivo col profumo di mentastro

e di cotogna tutto ciò che fu.

Mi specchio ancora nello specchio rotto,

rivedo i finti frutti d'alabastro...

Ma tu sei morto e non c'è più Gesù.

I went to Herne Bay last week. I saw these air vents on the seafront near the King's Hall - not sure what they are for, but they looked interesting.

Took this photograph using a circular polarising filter.

Hope you enjoy.
