The largest and oldest open air market in Los Angeles, it was opened in 1917. I can usually walk out of here with two huge bags of produce for under $5.

wild sockeye salmon, fresh never frozen grilled in the oven on a bed of lemons, honey and then glazed with homemade beet bbq sauce with some oven roasted vegitables from the farmer's market today (beets, cherry tomatoes, carrots and asparagus)

super YUM

the bbq sauce get a great color from the beet juice! and was reduced down from sauteeing the beet greens in 1 T butter and salt and pepper and one t of honey, after the greens were cooked and removed I added 1 T apple cider vinegar, 2 T brown sugar, 2 T homemade cocktail sauce, 1/4 t red chili flakes and 1/2 t old bay seasoning and a squeeze of lemon juice, I let it get nice and thick and carmely then I poured it over the plated salmon and topped that with fresh chopped parsley leaves

Who can resist purchasing strangely colored vegitables and fruit?

I stuffed meat sauce inside.

This was a walk around my town here in Japan. We were off to the market for fruit, veggies and fish, then to the bakery, and finish off at the sushi place. What a nice and full afternoon.

My cucumbers started under plastic.

Today's dinner. This ramen is super spicy seafood ramen. 900 yen, but it is worth to eat. Sometimes I want to eat this ramen intensely.(especially I am irritated). Soup is red!! this ramen is absolutely hot, very hot, super-hot, mega hot!! But juicy soup containing seafood and so much vegitable makes tasty soup, not only hot. Because I ate soup containing so much chile,I felt my rip sore after eating this. But I never stop to eat this ramen. Even if color of shit is coloured by red, Ican not stop to eat this ramen. Am I a masochist ??
