The Hong Lim Complex was built in 1977 and was one of the first high-rise buildings in Singapore's Chinatown area. It is a mixed-use development that comprises 30 floors of commercial space and residential units on the upper floors. The complex is also known for its popular hawker centre, which is located on the ground floor and offers a variety of affordable and delicious local food.
It is here that Katherine Hepburn backed into the canal while taking a picture in the movie Summertime (1955). --- --- --- On the corner is Signor Blum, a shop which sells hand made wooden objects with a Venetian theme. Beyond on the canal is the veggie boat selling fresh vegitables. --- --- --- In the distance in the afternoon haze is the bell tower of the Carmini Church.
This is a photo taken in 2011 at Alençon in France and one of my most favorites.
I initially was supposed to go to an another little beautiful village by bus from here,
but unfortunately the bus wasn't running that's why I had to stay a whole day here with a bit of reluctance.
Although I couldn't go to the village,Alençon is unexpectedly so lovely town .
No one knows what may happen during travel but I think unexpected happenings sometimes make our travel more enjoyable so I will go on a trip again and again.
I will depart for Morocco tomorrow.
I wish I meet some happy happenings and come back safely.

フランスの小さな町、アランソン。
もともとここからバスに乗って、小さな美しい村へ行く予定だったのに
バスが運休とのことで、しぶしぶこの町で１日を過ごすことに。
今にも降り出しそうなねずみ色の空に、人気のないねずみ色の町。
途方に暮れていたわたしの目に小さなマルシェが飛び込んできた。
お昼の教会の鐘とともに、どこからともなく町の人がわらわらと集まり
気づくとバスのことも忘れて、夢中で四角い窓をのぞいていた。
こういうハプニングがあるから、旅はおもしろいと思う。
明日からまた半月ちょっと、旅にでます。
嬉しいハプニングがたくさんありますように。
そして、無事に帰ってこれますように。

Whew.. only 3 candles to blow out... could have been worse and have all 48 to blow out... Thanks Mother!!!! This is a Chocolate cake with pastachio frosting... YUM !!!!
