From the 1930s to the late 1960's (and maybe even earlier!) Berriman's old horse-drawn van was a well known and common sight in the night-time Spennymoor (County Durham) town centre selling fishcakes and chips (french fries to the uninitiated!) to the revellers on their way home from their night out - including me! Chips never tasted better, even though (or possibly because) the van would never have passed the most basic of hygiene tests because of it's open coke-fired oil cooking vats and exposed food. For some reason they never sold fried fish portions. It was a very sad day when the van was finally removed by "Authority". The van is now in storage at Beamish Museum awaiting restoration and is seen here in the tram shed.

The Big Lemon have recently moved yards to across the road, although the office is still in the same old complex, the buses, drivers room and fuel is in the new yard. Seen in the old yard this lunchtime is the lemon van along with two Brighton vehicle rental vans. They have an office in the block where the lemons is.
Vans Slipper with argyle design. These were my new shoes for the summer. Except they are a bit hot, as in too warm. Still a great shoe, as far as slippers go.
