Fort 1881
Rond het fort lag een droge gracht. Deze was zodanig ontworpen dat een eventuele vijand die de gracht wist te bereiken nergens dekking kon vinden. De gracht kon via twee holle beren en caponnières worden bestreken.
There was a dry moat around the fort. It was designed in such a way that any enemy who managed to reach the moat could find no cover anywhere. The canal was covered by two hollow bears and caponnieres.
A Sava pickup in Spain circa 1987/8 parked next to an "old onion" as we called these old Pegaso lorries which were to be seen plodding about with about a 60% overload as standard which didn't make them go well, and every one was fitted with a Telma retarder, yet this lorry dates from the '60s! That Save by the way is obviously a Spanish built Austin-Morris J4.
IMG_9188. Strange part of the sky yesterday evening. I was photographing the sunset on the aircraft vapour trails. Anyone any idea if this is vapour trail that has been blown in the wind or if it is a natural cloud effect?
Another beater out in the snow. 240,000 miles and still dragging the dirt bikes up north every summer.
BMC J4 Van - Bimbo Bread - 1:43 scale model, No. 9 from the Altaya magazine series for Spain. The Bimbo logo on the bread wrapper is the newer version.
Thanks to RMJ68 for the following: "A diesel powered version of the van was produced in Valladolid, Spain by SAVA ("Sociedad Anónima de VehÃculos Automóviles"), between 1965 and 1989 and sold successively under several names including SAVA J4 and Pegaso J4."
Der Südosten der Türkei, und der Westen des Iran sind eine Landschaft eindrucksvoller , karger Schönheit voller Salzseen und erloschener Vulkane. Der Nemrut Dagi ist einer der phaszinierensten davon.
Well...that's what it started life as anyway.
Now it's powered by a Rover V8.

Tenminste, bijna het hele jaar is dit een klein strandje, maar vorige maand door de hoge waterstanden was het ook hier overstroomd.

At least, this is a small beach almost all year round, but last month it was also flooded here due to high water levels.
