A fresh UP SD70AH, the 8918, leads a westbound manifest over the historic swing bridge in Clinton, IA. UP does plan to replace this bridge in the future with a new one.
Two Southern Railway trains are seen north of East Croydon Station, both using Class 377 EMUS (Bombardier, 2001-2014). In British railway parlance, these would be considered "Up" and "Down" trains, as one is running to London (Up) and one from London (Down).
Construction, Week 19
Finally for today, a look down the front of the store from inside the current parking lot, as compared to the one from East Parkway which started today's set. You can probably see this better in that E Parkway pic, but there are considerably more holes in the wall for doors, windows, and the like on that side of the building than on the one where this pic was taken from. The ground-level openings are presumably for the café seating area per the interior layout design, but the upper ones make me think that there will be a second level here for offices. Some Krogers, including millennium ones (as we'll see in the future... ;) ), were built with second-floor offices, but Hernando's currently are all on the first (well, only) floor, I believe.
Stick around, Saturday I've got more from the Olive Branch Walmart coming your way!

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
M-TPTP returning west with a sizable cut of empty cement hoppers from the plant in Bonner Springs earlier this week.
Remember when the adults let you stay up WAY past your bedtime? You could even say it felt like you were allowed to stay up all night! This was taken handheld in extremely low light, hence the slide to pull out every bit of light that could be pulled out with some serious noise reduction thrown in.

UP 6439 leads a westbound empty coal train through Rochelle, IL in sweet golden light. The power may be generic, but those searchlights guarding the diamonds sure aren't, and soon a generic cantilever will soon make this location look just like any other place in the country with a generic cantilever.
A Slot Train of rip rap for flood damage repairs travels south into Council Bluffs. The lake on the left is normally a farm field, but it was an extension of the Missouri River that day.
Known as Benos on the railroad, this spot on the north side of CB is normally very noisy due to I-29 traffic just a stones throw away. At the time of the photo, I-29 was shut down because of flooding making for a peaceful spot. There were actually logs and driftwood up on the interstate roadway!
It is hard to imagine Union Pacific's steam fleet ever showing much grime of a working locomotive, usually with their high polish and public relations veneer. But that first encounter with UP 844 in 2011 showed an engine that had worked its way on a long tour across the US, and by the time it reached Utah it was showing the dirt it had accumulated across desert washes.
Sometimes looking up has it's own reward. This is the ceiling of Wild Fun Zones' awning. Thank you for your comments and faves.
CSXT Northbound Vehicle Train passes over the Etowah River Trestle in Emerson, GA. with a UP SD60M leading the way.
