Union Pacific Railroad DD35A 71 at Council Bluffs, Iowa on May 31, 1965, Kodachrome by Lou Schmitz, Chuck Zeiler collection. This locomotive was built April 1965 (c/n 29985) and retired August 24, 1981 and scrapped. It produced 5000 hp from 32-cylinders (two 16-cylinder prime movers). When EMD built the DD35, the intention was that it was a B (Booster) unit, no control cab, to be mated to a GP-35 for control. The DD35A version with a cab was built in 1965 for the UP (after the DD40 model had been announced) and had the sloping radiators that were applied to the 645-engine SD-40 test units. While the DD40 was to have two 645 diesels, the DD35A had two 567D3A diesels. UP 70-83 were built using reconditioned GE 752 traction motors (with 74:18 gear ratio) from trade-in Alco FA and FB cab units. EMD used the designation 752E20A for these reconditioned traction motors. UP 84 was built using the reconditioned EMD D67B1 traction motors from wrecked trade-in UP GP9 159 and was equipped with 62:15 gearing. The DD40 design was cancelled in 1966, however, EMD did build 47 DDA40X Centennial locomotives for the UP starting in 1969.

I "love" how the RVP50 "enhances" the skin tones - probably under exposed the shot. I just took reflective meter reading for the shot to avoid losing the moment.

The Weston, NE post office is experiencing a lull in activity as the silence of the scene is briefly interrupted by the passing Lincoln turn. By this time, the morning clouds had returned and I headed for home.

Was out cutting Christmas trees with the family and heard a steam whistle. Went back to Crestline and waited. Caught her just as she crested the hill, working hard like she was made to do

something a bit different again for me today! these are a few of the shots from the model shoot i did

i was asked to take some shots of some "up-do’s" for a hairdresser friend i know for their books so customers can flick through and choose a look they want etc

i wanted to have a shooting partner so i asked “Elliye” who i was friends with on flickr and twitter and luckily she said yes!

we got a number of shots of the hair, these were slightly different from previous model work i'd done as the emphasis was on the hair and not the face

i also took some candids around the salon to mix in with the more posed shots (these were my faves!)

i kept them all fairly high key and processed them all in the same style so they would work cohesively as a set

so far the feed-back has been great and we may be looking at more challenging projects in the future!

so if anyone wants a fab hairdresser in leeds please go to www.hirstandmiller.co.uk !

Been trying to break away from close up portraits and isolated figures, the Royal Mile is crowded, I want to experiment with that more.

Oi meninas! =)

Usei:

Roxo - Up Colors - 2x

Porém com uma camada já fica perfeito! só passei p me dá agonia uma camada só! hahahha

Obrigada a Nana que me deu esse lindo de presente! Amei amiga!!

Beijos meninas, ótimo fim de semana!

I would imagine that the sun has swung around enough to really light this shot up nicely in the early evening, but I wouldn't know because we haven't seen the sun since last Thursday and we're not looking to see the sun until at least Sunday and maybe Monday. So it goes in KS in the spring.

I can also guarantee that the Kansas river in the background will fill more of the view since we've had nothing but rain and the river is at least 10' higher now.
