With the light all but gone we caught one last view as she blew through the Grant's Tower area. I would have preferred a little more light but it ended up a nice scene all the same.

I simply did not think something like this would ever happen. To think that a Union Pacific Big Boy would be running on the Reading, Blue Mountain, and Northern Railroad a year ago would be absurd; ludicrous, even. Yet on the 13th and 14th of June, 2026, that fever dream became a reality. Crawling at around 7 mph, Ed Dickens runs his Large Lad #4014 through the Glen Onoko Rockcut in Jim Thorpe, PA, bound for Steamtown in Scranton, PA to meet up with their own UP #4012. Before Steamtown, the #4014 would “race” with the RBM&N’s T-1 #2102 in Mountain Top and just south of Pittston. What a time to be alive!!

Spent more than an hour watching the seagulls in Maremagnum,Barcelona... tried to take photos of these birds in different angles.
I like this one because it was directly above me!!
Thanks to the 18-200mmVR lens which made shooting birds in flight a lot easier compared to the 55-200mm kit lens which I used 3 months ago...
Title inspired by the movie "UP" we watched with my daughter the other day.

I've been a bit quiet of late as changing computer systems. I am now finally up and running with a Mac mini twinned with an Asus ProArt monitor.
Loving it so far - great to be able to download images without killing time hoovering etc... It was a pain having such a slow machine, but a little thing called money sort of restricts you from being able to replace broken tech instantly.
I also treated myself to a 1.4 teleconverter for my 400mm lens and this was my first try out with last nights moonrise. Pretty pleased with it! Only problem I forgot to clean my lens - duh!!! there was a ton of dust spots which my new monitor proudly showed off!!
I think the AI dust removal tool has helped but don't look too closely, it needs fine tuning!
The New Measurement Train HST is seen coming up from London Road Junction into Carlisle Citadel Station with 1Q17. This is the Derby - Heaton via the Settle - Carlisle and Carlisle Test Train. Seen entering Carlisle at 1358 on the 2nd September 2017.

The M-TPTP fighting all the wind as it rolls past the sewer plant in Bonner Springs, KS this afternoon on my way home from the cube farm. The wind was blowing about 45 mph from the north as evident here with all the dust being kicked up on the south side of the train.
Should have went with the 500mm here but that stupid green board kind of ruins that shot when something is on main 2. The 500mm would have also eliminated the tree that looks like it's growing out of the top of the unit too. Shooting these tele shots ain't as easy as some of you folks think.
