I'm searching for help in identifying this lens.
Very specific is the halfmoon shaped mask on the frontlens.
Is this a lens from i.e. a copier or from a camera ?
The frontlens has a diameter of about 62 mm.
I think it's an triple element lens because i can observe 3 reflections of i.e. a lamp. Glass has a blue haze so is probably coated.
The lensbarrel is about 70mm long and has 1 inner and 1 outer thread.
The outer thread has a diameter from about 80mm.
No identification text but only a small, handwritten, sticker stating "12.7".
The weight is about 740 grams.
This girl attracted Pony Boy's attention. He has been coming to my neighbourhood for about 3 days and practically living around here. He has been loudly calling and this is the reason why. I wonder if she is the pet of some irresponsible owner, or if she's a stray or a feral cat. I tried approaching her and she ran away, but that is not unusual for some cats. She's on my radar now, and I'll be watching for her.

This bit brace is one of many hasty impulse "investments". I liked the look of it and the fact that it was fitted with rosewood really sealed the deal. I was aware of issue when I bought it but I did not even check the jaws. There were none.
Well, sometimes jaws can easily be replaced bit this example calls for very deep jaws and although I have found a pair that works, they're not ideal. Also the top handle was very wobbly and despite much time repairing it, I still have not been able to stabilize the top handle. The chuck wobbles as well which is really all down to wear and cannot be fixed. The left hand brass handle ferrule is cracked which makes the rosewood handle slide and to really rub salt in my wounds one of the ratchet dogs is worn out meaning it will not operate once loaded with the friction of a auger bit.
Well, as much as it was a waste if money, it was a very good learning experience. This is the first bit brace I have taken apart completely - and I mean completely.
If you know the maker and model, please let me know. I have found absolutely no markings on this one.

The box lid illustration gave no clue that this vintage (pre-1980) antique map jigsaw would have a gold foil finish; at first I was doubtful whether we'd bitten off more than we could chew, but my better half made a start and got on so well during his first session that I was encouraged to participate. An illuminated magnifier was essential as the print was so tiny, and there was quite a bit of glare from the foil coating, especially under electric light, but overall it was a successful (mini) project. And complete, which is a bonus!
