Originally thought to be A mite - Acari, Eriophyoidea, Aceria genistae.
However these gall mites occur on gorse and broom, where as these galls where found in Manchester by myself and others the same in Lincolnshire by Eco heathen.
Wheather it is the same mite jumping host species or a similar mite that is salix specific, or a different species that just happens to have similar looking galls, I do not know.

A garden plant; lost track of identification; suggestions welcome
This unknown (to me) flower reflects the real me. Tall, slender, delicate, alluring and beautiful. ( Must stop smoking this wacky baccy, it's giving me delusions of adequacy.)
