Gulls or seagulls are seabirds of the family Laridae in the suborder Lari. They are most closely related to the terns (family Sternidae) and only distantly related to auks, skimmers, and more distantly to the waders. Gulls are typically medium to large birds, usually grey or white, often with black markings on the head or wings. They typically have harsh wailing or squawking calls; stout, longish bills; and webbed feet. Most gulls are ground-nesting carnivores which take live food or scavenge opportunistically, particularly the Larus species. Live food often includes crabs and small fish. Gulls have unhinging jaws which allow them to consume large prey. Gulls are typically coastal or inland species, rarely venturing far out to sea, except for the kittiwakes.

The kelp gull (Larus dominicanus), also known as the Dominican gull, is a gull that breeds on coasts and islands through much of the Southern Hemisphere. The nominate L. d. dominicanus is the subspecies found around South America, parts of Australia (where it overlaps with the Pacific gull), and New Zealand (where it is known as the black-backed gull, the southern black-backed gull, mollyhawk – particularly the juveniles, or by its Māori name karoro). L. d. vetula (known as the Cape gull) is a subspecies occurring around Southern Africa. R_26586

Measuring in at only up to 4" in length, the diminutive Eastern Mud Turtle (Kinosternon subrubrum) makes up for what it lacks in size with its spirit. After all, their feistiness is one of their defenses. Another comes in the form of a hinge on their plastron (the bottom of their shell). Similar to box turtles, they can close up their shells, protecting their tasty meaty parts inside! That comes in great handy for a turtle that is semiaquatic, spending time in small vernal ponds and traveling often over land between them when they dry up. A great array of predators lurk in search of small treats like the mud turtle! Lucky for this little one, I was not among them.

Gulls or seagulls are seabirds of the family Laridae in the suborder Lari. They are most closely related to the terns (family Sternidae) and only distantly related to auks, skimmers, and more distantly to the waders. Until the 21st century, most gulls were placed in the genus Larus, but this arrangement is now considered polyphyletic, leading to the resurrection of several genera. An older name for gulls is mews, cognate with German Möwe, Danish måge, Dutch meeuw, and French mouette; this term can still be found in certain regional dialects.

The large species take up to four years to attain full adult plumage, but two years is typical for small gulls. Large white-headed gulls are typically long-lived birds, with a maximum age of 49 years recorded for the herring gull.

Gulls nest in large, densely packed, noisy colonies. They lay two or three speckled eggs in nests composed of vegetation. The young are precocial, born with dark mottled down and mobile upon hatching. Gulls are resourceful, inquisitive, and intelligent, the larger species in particular, demonstrating complex methods of communication and a highly developed social structure. For example, many gull colonies display mobbing behavior, attacking and harassing predators and other intruders. Certain species have exhibited tool-use behavior, such as the herring gull, using pieces of bread as bait with which to catch goldfish, for example. Many species of gulls have learned to coexist successfully with humans and have thrived in human habitats. Others rely on kleptoparasitism to get their food. Gulls have been observed preying on live whales, landing on the whale as it surfaces to peck out pieces of flesh! - Wikipedia

Commander TK-5011’s Report: The Jedi were caught by surprise. The few that had been up early, in the fields, had been killed. Judging by their braids they must've been older padawans. Inside, the elderly Ithorian cut down six of my men, before she was killed. Another human Jedi assisted her. He was disarmed by the Inquisitors, brought outside, and killed. My men rounded up around seven younger students, all escorted to the offworld transport. The remaining Jedi have been captured and sent to Sgt. Taran Rackham for interrogation.

I lost another three men to an unhinged training droid, but our Inquisitors made short work of it.

We have secured a dozen Holocrons from the Jedi vault, along with a few other artifacts.

I take full responsibility for the men I lost, and I accept any disciplinary action. I consider the mission a success and I am certain Lord Cerato will be pleased.

Thanks for watching!

Now, this guy definitely won't be in the series. Probably. I was going to put him in the Earth K lot, but he has a story. Well, a small story.

So, 'why the hook hand?' I hear you ask. Well, y'know how the Riddler referred to Batman as something along the lines of 'The bastard who took my leg'. Well, back in Batmans earlier days he was...a bit unhinged. Originally, I had envisioned Batman chopping off Penguins hand with a cleaver, but I don't think that'd fit too well, after all, Batman is the good guy. While I'm here, I'll explain Riddlers peg leg too. That one was just a result of a pretty bad break (by Batman) that didn't get the right treatment, so had to be removed. What a wonderful place the Overlords-verse is.

So, as always, lemme know what you think, and if you'd like to see Penguin make an appearance in the main series :D

This Goanna was well hidden in a shallow burrow and was waiting for an unsuspecting lunch to walk by.

Most goannas are rather large for a lizard, and they all have sharp teeth and long claws. Monitor lizards are predators.

They forage and hunt for lizards, snakes, insects, birds and eggs and even small mammals, and they often dig them out of their shelters and nests.

They're not fussy about what they eat, anything they can grab and overpower will do, and they also eat dead and rotting things.

Like snakes the goannas can unhinge their lower jaw to help them swallow bigger prey. It's impressive to see what size meals they can swallow whole. And if the food is there they will just keep eating. Watching them makes you think they must have bottomless guts.

So after some great feedback with Batman: Reflection, I've decided to make a sequel to it. I won't give you any context of what the story is until I've uploaded all the photos. The story won't be as strong as Batman: Reflection, but it brings this story to an end.

Thanks so much for your support,

Sitting on a perch over the dead-dry Sheep Shearer Brook, I spotted a sudden movement by the far bank. A tiny abrupt jump of something uncertain, disappearing quickly in the steambed stones below. Maybe a field mouse? Then a familiar squealing sound, and I was almost sure it was. As the noise continued, I hopped down for a closer look — and was surprised to discover a frog in the grip of a tiny snake. They were engaged in a tug of war of sorts, neither gaining ground on the other. Now I'm no expert, but I doubt the reptile could swallow the amphibian, no matter how it tried. There's a limit to the stretchiness of even a snake, and jaws can only unhinge so far. I kept my distance, because it's always foolish interfering with the wars of wildlife. Which has more right to live, the hunter or hunted? In any case, the inevitable futility was realized moments later, and both went on their hopping and slithering way. There's a lot of desperation in these dry woods lately, pools crowded with water striders in battle, and everything thirsty or hungry. Seems to make my worries weigh a little less.

Today's story and sketch "by me" started very casual I was enjoying a great cup of hot cocoa with the little marshmallows floating on top. Anticipating at any moment the Man Cave delivery door bell would ring, signaling the Moon Pie Delivery Man had arrived with our weekly order of moon pies fresh from the bakery in Chattanooga Tennessee. I drove the forklift out on the loading dock expecting to see Cosmo in the interdimensional moon pie delivery van, it was not Cosmo, it was Reggie a member of "ICAHI" the Intergalactic crimes against humanity investigators. The first words out of Reggie's mouth were, where is Rescue Randy, the "ICAHI" needs him to assist in searching the Galaxy for the Moon Pie Van, it was hijacked minutes before arriving at the Man Cave. Reggie believes it was spotted entering worm hole Seventeen in route to the outer edge of the Sombrero Galaxy. By this time I was becoming pretty unhinged, but managed to reach JB and Rescue Randy, who were on Mars competing in the Mariner Crater Shuffleboard Championships. Within minutes they were on their way to meet Reggie somewhere in worm hole Seventeen. I was just calming down when the "FAA" Flying Aliens Association alarm began screeching, the seekers needed assistance with one of their own members who had been captured by a spirit tree in dimension ZXIV, and could someone from the "MCPPOTG" Man Cave Posse Protectors Of The Galaxy, be so kind as to lend assistance removing a Seeker traped in a spirit tree, riding a Stratolounger he had purchased from "RRADJSSAL"Rescue Randy's Atomic Dimension Jumping Stratolounger Sales And Leasing. With Randy and JB out of the Man Cave chasing pirates somewhere in the Sombrero Galaxy. Any rescue assistance will be my responsibility until JB and Randy return.

The Seekers sent a sketchofax of the scene. I am on my way but will stop at the quickie mart at the worm hole interchange, on the way to Dimension ZXIV, pick up a few cases of moon pies before the word gets out about the moon pie hijacking, and the public panics. until next time taa ta the

Fishermans Beach is located between Collaroy point and the northern base of Long Reef Point. The 500 m long beach begins amongst the rocks on the south side of Collaroy rock pool, and curves round to face north against the rocks and wide rock platform of Long Reef. The beach has been used by fishermen since the 18th century when it was also used as a small port for loading cattle for the Sydney market. The fishers both store the boats at the eastern end of the beach and use the boat ramp to launch their small tinnies off the sand. Beachfront houses back the western side of the beach, with a road, boat ramp and car park running behind the southern side, together with Long Reef golf club and headland reserve. The Warringah Surf Rescue Radio room is located at the eastern end of the beach. It maintains year round communication with all surf clubs and emergency services. Fishermans is a quieter but not popular swimming spot owing to the often brown colour of the water; a result of clay eroded from the underlying clays and shales, in addition to the seaweed that often covers the beach, and the coming and going of fishing boats. Out on the tip of Long Reef Point is a ribbon of sand running at the foot of the cliffs, for the most part fronted by the wide rock platforms. In two places the platform retreats and the waves reach the sand producing steep, narrow reflective beaches. On the north side of the point there is a small 50 m long beach sometimes called Little Makaha, while on the southern side there is a smaller gap, which lead to the reef break called Butterbox. These beaches are little used and while waves are usually low at the shore they are unsuitable for safe swimming. The reefs around Long Reef provide a few breaks during big east and southeast swell. Just south of the Collaroy pool is a short peaky left reef break called Brownwater, after the colour of the water that usually accompanied heavy rain and big seas. On the northern side of the rock platform a right, called Fishermans, runs along the side of the rocks and a little further out a right hander runs towards the rock, called White Rock. Little Makaha, a big wave break is located off the northern tip of the point, while Butterbox on the south side of the cliffs is a popular summer site.

Pelicans are a genus of large water birds that make up the family Pelecanidae. They are characterised by a long beak and a large throat pouch used for catching prey and draining water from the scooped-up contents before swallowing. They have predominantly pale plumage, the exceptions being the brown and Peruvian pelicans. The bills, pouches, and bare facial skin of all species become brightly coloured before the breeding season. The eight living pelican species have a patchy global distribution, ranging latitudinally from the tropics to the temperate zone, though they are absent from interior South America and from polar regions and the open ocean. Pelicans frequent inland and coastal waters, where they feed principally on fish, catching them at or near the water surface. They are gregarious birds, travelling in flocks, hunting cooperatively, and breeding colonially. Four white-plumaged species tend to nest on the ground, and four brown or grey-plumaged species nest mainly in trees. The relationship between pelicans and people has often been contentious. The birds have been persecuted because of their perceived competition with commercial and recreational fishing. Their populations have fallen through habitat destruction, disturbance, and environmental pollution, and three species are of conservation concern. They also have a long history of cultural significance in mythology, and in Christian and heraldic iconography.

Of recent years it's become a tradition for us to explore the ruins of our family's past. The barn, once standing tall and proud, crumbles as boards rot and new animal entrances form. We enter through unhinged doors resting at their assigned post and unboarded walls left open to the outside world.

During the Jazz Age:

After returning home from a classical music performance where she played piano, Maisie has fallen asleep on the sofa, her cat beside her. Her exhaustion is the result of the fact that she gets worked up into a nearly obsessive state as she prepares for any performance, having to remind herself even to eat.

"I want to be the absolute best," Maisie often thinks, "And to break barriers between classical and Jazz. I must work tirelessly...Though sometimes, I think I may go mad strictly from caring so much..."

Better pace yourself, Maisie, before the shadows envelop your mind. Or you may revert to being the driven, unhinged girl you once were. And that would be unfortunate, to say the least, not only for you but for those who love you...

Not to mention all of those innocent strangers, blissfully unaware of the violent urges that sometimes plagued you--before your hospitalization...

Location: Ha'shuan Village

Personality: Cold, calculated and intelligent. Distant and unpredictable.

Bio: Krikarr is an Agori from Botana. For as long as anyone can remember, Krikarr has been almost like a myth. Many believe him to be slightly sociopathic and anti-social. He isolated himself to further up the mountains from the main village of Ha'shuan. Krikarr is seen as a vigilante to the village. However, he seems to take things too far. Many criminals have been beaten to a bloody pulp or worse by this Agori for things as little as petty theft. No one knows how, or why, Krikarr does this and perhaps he's so unhinged that even he may not knows why either.
