My new ukulele, Oscar. A tenor Oscar Schmidt by Washburn. He's the best.

At the very end of Bassai Dai (one of my favourite kata).

A bit of a cheat with this photo, but I think it worked out ok. (Ten points for spotting - and twenty for me if I figure who'll spot it first) ;)

it's official, it's small, it's electro-acoustic, and it's my birthday present!

I love the acoustic instruments which are made in mahogany.

Ukuleles usually come in three sizes: soprano, concert, and tenor. (There is also a bass ukulele, but it is tuned differently.)

My ukulele is a concert size. It has a rosewood fingerboard and mahogany body and neck.

These strings are Aquila brand nylgut, a special type of nylon. Nylgut generally has a brighter tone than other strings, so it is a good balance for the warm tone of the mahogany wood.

I have an obsession for old melodies and bastard string instruments like the uke and banjo.
