The perfect lockdown instrument for older learners!!!
Have you learnt a new language,or an instrument, or catalogued all your old photographs, tell me what you aimed to do during lockdown or you achieved.
I have NOT learnt to play this, despite it supposedly being so easy with just four strings.
But it was RED and today was all about "Red Rule' for a theme group challenge.
I know the very first Thing people are going to ask... "Does it play?! Can I hear it?!"
Short answer: Yes, it plays.
...However, there is numerous problems with it, chief of which is the highly flexible neck which sends the instrument way out of tune with the slightest hand moments. Secondly, the string tension causes the head-stock to constantly break apart. Even tuning the Uke an octave lower is still too tight and the sound output is very quiet.
I tired my hardest to make an aesthetically pleasing and functional LEGO Ukulele but after a year of working on it, I've finally given up on the functional aspect. I even changed the tuning pegs from friction wheels to machine-heads, but that wasn't enough to make it tune up.
Oh well, I'll enjoy it for what it is. A full-scale, realistic looking LEGO Ukulele that sorta makes noise....
Nearly 4 hours of bordom converted into a non playable ukulele. me being a ukuleleist I wanted to do this and in teh future when I have the parts for it I want to attempt a playable one. Also decided I'd throw it into the epic contest.
cheers

Strobist: I hung a two-yard piece of black lace material from a horizontal arm and shot a Flashpoint Evolv 200 roundhead with the grid and snoot through it. The flash was maybe 6 feet away from the material.
1970 Triumph TR6 Injection.
Anglia Car Auctions, King's Lynn -
"Chassis number: CP510350. The vendor, who has owned this excellent condition example of Triumph's TR6 for 15 months, tells us that it has been been driven by (or at least been pictured with) Sir Stirling Moss, Damon Hill and Jeremy Clarkson. It has also been displayed outside the Houses of Parliament and in the courtyard of Buckingham Palace . The car is is finished in an attractive combination of Black with Red soft-top and Red leather interior (although it was originally White - the colour was changed in June 1988). It was registered in March 1970 and has 11,640 miles showing on its odometer, although this isn't warranted and, with reference to the paperwork, this is likely to be 111,640. The history folder includes the current and previous V5Cs, and comes with a large stack on invoices covering many years, event correspondence and memorabilia, and photos (including the Moss, Hill and Clarkson shots, plus ones of the car at Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament), In addition, there are old tax discs, Triumph TR-related magazines and MoT certificates stretching back to 1994 when the noted mileage was 00016. This is a very nice classic Triumph that has obviously led quite a packed life."
Estimate: £16,000 to £20,000. Unsold (bidding stopped at £14,000).
Old uke, new uke.
I love my plinky plonky fruity uke and we've had quite a few adventures together, but I needed something that could hold its tuning slightly better than my beloved plastic and plywood pal. One trip to Duke Of Uke later, and I was the proud owner of a tuneful Kala concert ukulele.

Shot on 400TX BW film, with Canon T90 and Quantaray 300mm mirror lens. It's near impossible to focus a mirror lens on an object coming at you. I pre-focused, and fired 4 frames at 4.5 FPS. The first frame had better hand position, but, this second frame is sharper.

From 21st May the 241 was one of several routes altered in East London upon the opening of the Elizabeth Line. The section between Custom House and Canning Town was withdrawn (covered by diverting the 474 via Keir Hardie estate) instead diverting to Prince Regent Bus Station. Once the infrastructure is in the place the route will further extend to Royal Wharf. Stagecoach East London 11020 YX68 UKE is seen on the 'new' section in Victoria Dock Road shortly after leaving Prince Regent bus station. Saturday 2nd July 2022. DSCN53308.

Fuji Velvia 100

Fuji Chem
This was my first time processing Velvia in fuji chem. Really blows out the normal colors. Was at a rich man's house party and got bored waiting to leave. Someone left their uke on the expensive couch. I snagged a shot of some lights in the tree outside, with a twist of my hand. Tehn, I used my orange flash on the couch.
