Okay, so technically it's a small sand dune, not a mountain, but still...I have a song in my heart, a ukulele on my back, and sand beneath my not-at-all-appropriate-for-the-beach boots, so things are going fine!

Started to learn this simple, yet beautiful instrument recently and I couldn't help myself :D
Myung: Takaki oppa está tão lindo, né? *---* *quase tendo desmaios*

Roid Week 2012, Day 3 Shot 1!
I think they might have ukes...what do you think??

This is a shot of my concert Ukulele, made of Zebra wood (whatever that is) and used regularly. I ended up with one of these after my beloved purchased a cheap one for a joke xmas present a year or so back. She didn't believe I would use it, but oddly I did, and I have learnt to play this to at least a reasonable standard over a small number of songs. Anyway I bought this to encourage me further as it is slightly easier to make the difficult chords.
Taken with my Leica X using a wide aperture and trying to dial in the focus.
Updated 6th Jan 2017 - just to say thank you to everyone who has faved this, and for it findings it way into explored. My beloved has already asked me to convert the image into a canvas - she loves it apparently.
Update 12th Jan 2017 - I will post something new, but am in a long run of shifts until next week - and I have a new idea for an image I want to shoot. But will do so next week. Thank you for the many faves.

Learning a new tune... it has a reggae rhythm. I really need to learn how to chuck/chunk.

My dad gave me a ukulele for Christmas. The only stringed instrument I've ever played is piano, and that was a long, long time ago and not even remotely similar to playing any of its stringed cousins.
This is a starter Kala, a soprano - something inexpensive I put on my wish list because I wasn't sure I would like playing and I didn't want to invest a lot of money into a hobby I wouldn't enjoy.
Turns out I like it enough that I have a banjolele coming on Tuesday. I've always wanted to play banjo, but I don't think I have the chops to manage all them twangy strings plus fingerpicking. I think a banjo ukulele is more my speed. When I'm feeling less twangy, this little gal fills the bill.
My youngest son has also found himself enamored of my uke, so he's ordered one for himself - also arriving Tuesday. Looking forward to having a fam jam with my boy!
Meanwhile, this beauty, the uke that started it all - I think she needs a name. Got suggestions?
