Yesterday, after all the preprations had been done and before the Christmas worship services began, I took a break. I went to the covered bridge that I like to photograph, and spent some quiet time.
I'd never used a wide-angle lens on the bridge, so that's what I tried this time.

Originally built in 1873, this bridge was destroyed by fire in 1991. With the help of local citizens, the bridge was rebuilt in 1997 to the specifications of the original, with the exception of a window being added to each side of the bridge. Constructed with native hemlock and oak, this town truss bridge is the longest in Bucks County. It crosses the Neshaminy Creek. Height Limit: 13 ft.; Width: 16 ft.; Length: 170 ft. Accessible by foot, bike, horseback.

A few minutes later, I saw horse and rider coming toward me from the other side of the creek. The woman said she'd come back that way for me. It had been obvious that I'd wanted to get a good photo of her crossing the creek, so she made sure I had the opportunity.
Some people are just nice!

Located 33 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Tyler State Park consists of 1,711 acres in Bucks County. Park roads, trails, and facilities are carefully nestled within the original farm and woodland setting. Neshaminy Creek meanders through the park, dividing the land into several interesting sections.

What a flip-flop in the weather! Today, the temperature is well above freezing. At one of our favorite parks, that means large chunks of ice falling into the creek. Many of them collided with this concrete bridge, and even ended up on top.
The warm weather has also brought cabin fever sufferers, including humans and dogs, from their cabins, to enjoy some open space. They encountered the bridge with much curiosity!
