Great Crested Flycatchers are reddish-brown above, with a brownish-gray head, gray throat and breast, and bright lemon-yellow belly. The brown upperparts are highlighted by rufous-orange flashes in the primaries and in the tail feathers. The black bill sometimes shows a bit of pale color at the base.
Great Crested Flycatchers are sit-and-wait predators, flying from high perches (usually near the tops of trees) after large insects, returning to the same or a nearby perch. Their clear, rising reep calls are a very common sound in summer.

The reclusive Wood Thrush hops through leaf litter on the forest floor, probing for insects, bobbing upright between spurts of digging and leaf-turning. The male's clear, flute-like song echoes through the forest in spring and early summer, and both sexes make distinctive, machine-gun-like alarm notes.

Actually, ducks do have cold feet!
As blood is supplied to the feet through arteries, some of the heat is exchanged with colder blood returning from the veins. This reduction in temperature of the blood supplied to the feet servers to reduce the amount of heat lost to the environment. The physics is all about delta's - the lower the temperature gradient between the ducks foot and the cold water, the lower the heat loss. Here is an article that provides a good explanation.
