I think this was a yellow belly. Kind hard to see his markings on his face, but his belly is yellow.
Some turtles that have been hit by boats, and have had their shells damaged, develop a "bubble-butt" syndrome and cannot stay submerged. They can never be released in the wild. The turtle hospital attached weights to their shell to at least keep their tail end balanced.
Seen in the pond at Dave's apartment complex. Many turtles, some lilies, a couple of ducks, and even some fish. But the turtles were the coolest. Came up wanting food.
A turtle I found crossing Pughtown Rd. I brought it to where I work at Buttonwood Farm near Kimberton, PA.
