Pixturtle in life

逃げる気なんかさらさらない、って感じでじーっとこっちを見てました。ハイ、侵入者はこっちです。。。

This guy decided to walk up the driveway today! Big turtle..about a foot across and 1 1/2 feet long with his tail included. Almost positive it's a common snapping turtle (quite common here in Wisconsin)

I see this turtle almost every other day in my back yard.

Every June the snapping turtles emerge from the creek to lay their eggs in our herb garden. Prehistoric? I think so!

Do you know how hard it is to get sea life, let alone turtles to line up for a photo? I recall there were two behind me and these three on the other side, which adds up to too many turtles!

the Live Tortoise and Turtle museum is a strange and interesting place. I haven't put all my pictures from it up, because they are a bit dull and I can't remember what all the turtles are called. I think this is one of the largest freshwater turtle species in the world, though...

We went to "Turtle Town" (a snorkel and diving site off Makena beaches) after Molokini, I literally ran into this turtle while swimming backward to take picture of my in-laws. Luckily that I did not touch the turtle, otherwise I could be fine for thousands of dollars for harassing endangered animal.
