I didn't have anything to show the scale, but this turtle must be at least three feet long. It looks like a freaking dinosaur.

This turtle was coaxed into coming ashore by the locals, and sure enough, came within petting distance!
By far the most precious thing on my journey. This baby turtle was in Location_5 and looked like he had gotten a little lost while sun bathing. I made sure to return him near the waters edge before he became someones pet. The ponds that I saw most turtles in were covered in algae.

I was walking with my friends along a side road near Christie Lake when I saw this turtle digging a hole in the ground dangerously close to the road pavement. While we were snapping pictures, the turtle decided that it doesn't like the publicity and retreated back to the safety of the lake. I hope she is safe now.
Every June the snapping turtles emerge from the creek to lay their eggs in our herb garden. Prehistoric? I think so!
